LOL maybe just fun facetiousness:) I hear ALL coastal rivers have lost their luster. No more salmon. No big native steelhead in February. Nada. Maybe it has just been rumor all these years? Come to think of it, why go fishing?bionic_one wrote:Ah the intarwebz, where sarcasm is sometimes hard to pick up on.
In all seriousness, I can understand people not picking up on the uh stuff. It takes some getting used to and knowing the 'style' of the posters. Plus it doesn't help to have such a HARD language to understand the nuances of (oops think I may have screwed something up in there grammatically? Just goes to show).
Good luck on the water.

RE:Winter Steel
hhahahahaha yes the rivers out there are great for winter steel. I will be heading out Friday after thanksgiving and spending the weekend out there freezing my butt off. But that is part of the fun........and well worth it........warm camp fire at night, and my subzero sleeping bag. Can't wait.
I love it out there

My first ever catch from a river was a bullhead.flinginpooh wrote:And I still snag bullheads.

Seem to catch them in the ocean, bays, Puget Sound, rivers, lakes, ponds, reservoirs.
Don't remember catching one while winter steelhead fishing though. Yet.

Im going this weekend to Jens favorite river "the Notellum" I got a report that some 12 plus pound coho are there along with a trickling of winter metal. I fish spinners and spoons. The problem is keeping those big doggies off.I hope.
When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.
