RE:NEW MEMBERS - INTRODUCE YOURSELF!

Post by EdmondsBassMan » Fri Aug 10, 2007 12:24 pm

My name is Jason Fania and I'm 31.I work for Premera Bluecross as a Network Specialist. I'm single but I'm looking for a wife who wants to go fishing more than I do.LOL I was born and raised in New Jersey but have moved around a bit. I have lived in Florida, Minnesota and Texas. I have been in WA for 18 months. I currently live in Edmonds. My favorite hobby is fishing! I also like hanging out with family and friends, most sports, anything outdoors (camping, hiking, mountain biking, snowboarding, well you get the idea) and did I mention fishing. My Dad introduced me to fishing which means I have been fishing since I was knee high to a grasshopper but I have been really into for the last eight years. I will fish for anything given the opportunity but my favorite is bass fishing. My favorite spot right now is Lake Joy but I have only been to a couple of lakes. I look forward to fishing all over this state. I will be in a blue and gray pontoon boat if you see me on the water. Looking forward to making some new fishing friends in WA. This website rocks and has helped me so much in learning the water in this part of the country. Thanks to the staff for all their hard work and everyone who posts here!

My name is Lewis Skiles I am 51 years old. I work as an architecturial detailer for Christensen Shipyards in Vancouver, USA. I am married and have a daughter who is married to a patriot soldier and lives in Tacoma. I have two sons 19 and 16 and a daughter who is 13. I was born and lived until a teenager in Eastern Washington. I did not have a dad to teach me to fish, but I fished when I was a kid with my brother and then as an adult 20 years ago I fished for bass in northern California. When I moved back to my home state of Washington I thought I would try fishing again. I love to fish, but I can not catch anything. It is probably because I do not know how or what bait to use or where to go. It is very frustrating, but I still go. Most of the people i have talked to about going fishing do not seem to want to try to teach someone to fish, they just want to fish. I can not blame them...I just want to fish too! I would encourage all of you to be sure and tell us rookies what bait and maybe a little technique when you give fishing reports...it really helps to encourage me to keep on trying. I was out to Lacamas lake a few times and it seems like a nice place to fish. I caught a bass off the boat launch (I do not get skunked 100% of the time). It was last year and I took a picture that I will post maybe later.

Hey Lewis,

Welcome (and everyone else posting as well!). The fun is in the learning, catching helps though. Hang in there. I'm sure a lot of anglers on this site will help you whenever you ask!

Location: Lakewood, moving to Tacoma soon
Hobbies: Fishing, Guitars, computers, dogs
What You Do: Fill out VA paperwork.
Favorite Species To Fish For: What's biting? I like to zig when the rest of the world zags. Quiet fishing without the army.

How Long You Have Been Fishing: Since I heard someone say "Let there be fishies!"
How You Got Introduced To Fishing: Probably by molesting anything living in the local creeks back home. After that a little parental influence.
What Do You Do When You're Not Fishing (pardon the edit): Sit and think too much mostly.
Your Favorite Picture: My best bud Ringo but I can't figure out how to post on this "Quick Reply" form so your loss.

My name is Chuck and I currently live in Oregon City, OR but do most of my fishing on the other side of the river. I've been fishing since I was 11 while living in Reedsport.
Got hooked on bass fishing in 1985 while in the Navy at Whidbey Island. Used to fish tournaments when I was stationed at Memphis. (If you can catch bass in the Northwest, you can be very competitive in the South.) Got out of the Navy in 1990 and wrote (and got published) bass fishing articles part-time. Sold fishing tackle for Larry's before he sank his company. Spent 7 years rigging boats and finally ended up teaching math in a Christian school.
Back to the important stuff. Bass fishing. Usually fish Silver Lake and Lacamas Lake in SW Washington. Look for small lakes that have good bank access for those times I don't want to haul my boat around. Still like to fish the lakes near Anacortes like Campbell, Big, and even Cranberry Lake. I am especially fond of Terrell near Bellingham.
I would like to hook up with other bass guys around Vancouver to hit Lacamas and Silver. If there is a good bass club in the area, let me know.

Hi everyone,

My name is Suzanne, not Dan. The sign-in is a play on words from the Hawaii 5-0 TV show.

Age is 41

I live in Seattle.

Hobbies are Fishing, Hiking, Camping, Reading, Softball, Reptiles (I have a tiny collection of snakes)

I work retail, and I'm also a student.

I've been fishing since I was about twelve. A friend's family took me fishing to Huntington Beach at the pier, and they put a dead tom cod on my line when I went to the bathroom. I didn't realize it had already been caught until the next fishing trip, when I actually hooked and fought a fish for the first time. No one had to tell me they tricked me. I knew the difference instantly. And I was hooked!

Favorite species is bass. I don't hit big lakes too often. I usually fish out of my float tube on the Eastside, in smaller, lesser-known lakes. I moved to Seattle from California about seven years ago, and was so pleasantly surprised at the bass fishery here :) Seems like more people fish for LM bass now then when I first moved here, but maybe that's my imagination.

I'm working on catching my first Salmon, Smallie, and Brown Trout someday soon.
Suzanne

Hi, My name is Cheryl.
My business partners and I just bought the old Henley's resort on Silver Lake. We are opening it year around for camping, cabin rentals, and we are trying to get the lake open year around.
However, right now, we are having a Fishing Derby memorial for the fisherman who died on Silver Lake last month. All proceeds will go to the family. We are offering up as a grand prize a plasma TV. We are also offering up some other prizes like a weekend with boat rental as 1st place and 2nd will be trolling motors. There are 4 catagories to try and win from and the grand prize.
If you are interested, please call the resort or my offices 253-274-0277 and as for Cheryl.

I was wondering what the future of the lake held. Heard so many conflicting reports and rumors and was wondering if the lake would still be open to the public. Thanks for the info and am looking forward to coming up possibly before the season ends. Good luck on trying to make it a yearround fishery. Keep us posted of any WDFW hearings concerning that, so that some of us can help.

Welcome to WL.com.

Hi guys my name is Jay, (Jayboy is just a nickname I've got). Im currently 20 and soon to be 21~woot~
I live in Cowlitz county, but usually move from time to time and fish Vancouver lakes and different rivers.
My hobbys are Steelhead Fishing, the accational bass, and Baseball. Im currently attending College right now, so Im not really working all that much. My favorite species had got to be Steelhead, but Bass fishing can be a real hoot too. I Fish the Lewis river and Silver Lake the most, but have been know to fish Lacamas Lake with cousins and friends from time to time. I've been fishing for 4 years and recently started fishing seriously for 1. I got introduced mainly by curiousity, but my family and friends helped to get me hooked. When Im not fishing, Im trying to find a girlfriend, college, hitting the slopes up at Mt Hood, or Pitching up the fields.

This is my favorite picture so far
