They do not make these anymore, or at least this version/brand. I know that upon inspection you may laugh at this item, ha!
But actually it has its uses.

I have had this for many years. It works just fine. Don't think of this at all as being a sonar unit designed to located fish 'while' you are fishing from your boat. What is cool about this thing is that you can use it to scout out underwater structure prior to fishing an area. Think of bass fishing, and wondering what structures are under you, logs, rocks, etc. Are there fish lurking under this dock on a regular occasion? Reconnaissance today, fish tomorrow.
What I found is that if I took it with me when I went fishing, I NEVER even fished, because I was to busy playing around, looking at the structure below. The one time I used it to actually fish, I had my friend on the boat slowly jigging for some fish below. I could watch his jig bounce, and tell him to move it 2' to the left, etc. towards the fish.

Anti-spook fish cam with built-in ultra red lights

Im not interested in buying this, but I really enjoy playing with my home made version. Mine plugs into the back of my Garmin so I can pull up the camera view on any combo screen or make it full screen. Its actually pretty handy if the lighting and water clarity are good enough.

Being able to see whats going on in real time is much better than having to wait until you get home to slog through hours of video with nothing on it.

What kind of connector does it use to plug into the monitor? I suspect it could be modified to work like mine does on any sonar unit that has a video IN port. You would need to get the specs from the mfg to be sure though.

No distraction, Larry. Glad to hear how other people McGuyver stuff. As far as the the connector it uses, it is one of those video connectors that are sometimes options on things like TV's. (It has 5 male tiny pins that are in a half circle shape, and they plug into female end, at the camera)
Like I said, it sounds cornball, but it is really pretty good viewing to see what is down there.
