How many folks actually read the new regulation pamphlets or for that matter carry one with them?

I do! I get 3. One by my computer, where I spent a lot of time and it is also where I tie, one in my vehicle. One in case one or the other gets lost.

I read it cover to cover when they first come out and then weekly there after. That said I still am surprised every now and then on an interpretation of the rules. I also subscribe to the WDFW emergency updates at http://wdfw.wa.gov

Are the news ones out yet?

I have one in the boat, one at home, and when I had a job I'd have one there.

One in the car, one in my tackle bag and an electronic copy on my computer (both home and work). I will print pages off when I go to new areas just so I have it with me as well.

One in the truck, one with the magizines in the front room, and a PDF file on the computer. Still waiting for the new Regs however. I too will print pages out when I go to a new area, just so I know the regs there well.

I download the PDF version and print a few color copies double sided, 2 pages per side. I spiral bind them and give them clear plastic covers. This gives me a compact 5.5" x 8.5" version that I keep in my boat's glove box, camper, fishing vest or backpack so I have them wherever I go. I'm going to suggest to Lowrance that they implement a PDF reader in their fish finders so that you could store and view them from SD cards.

Same here. Have the PDF on the computer that I use a lot. Keep a hard copies in the truck, in my fishing bag, in the RV and usually have an extra floating around for good measure.....and subscribe to the WDFW rule updates.

One in the boat at all times (glovebox), one at home for casual reading, and a spare in case the one on the boat gets wet. I read all the definitions, statewide general rules, and the special regs section for the bodies of water we routinely fish in addition to the email subscription with WDFW.

Yup, pretty much the same. Got the pdf on the computer, the one on the coffee table (which my wife is always trying to throw away), the one in my truck and the one in my backpack. Also carry one in the tackle box. I'm always readin' em to look for the odd rule changes and interpretations. If I'm fishin' there tomorrow, you can bet I'm readin' about it tonight! Subscribed to the WDFW emergency updates as well. They come in real handy!

Yep read the regs every time a new set comes out. And (try) keep up with all the emergency changes online. I need to start taking better care of them, or just bringing new paper with me camping. I probally go through at least 10 a year. 1/2 of my copies work there way to the floor of the truck/boat and get muddy or wet. And the other half get turned into a fire starter, and a small percent well.......there isnt a lot of leaves in the desert if you catch my drift. In any way, a perfect all around tool [thumbup]

Never leave home without 'em

Good to see everyone up on the regs. I also have a copy on board each boat and one next to my computer. Thanks to rseas for the reminder about emergency rules emails from the WDFW. I've been meaning to subscribe to that for a while now. I hope everyone has a great and safe fresh water season. Crabbing is just a few short months away as well! Can’t wait!

Just a heads up starting May 1st of this year 58 lakes in Mason, Thurston, and I believe Kitsap have a retention change on trout although you can still keep 5 only two may be over 14-inches.

Too funny. It is strange how over the years I have bought my licenses and the vendors have told me that they hadn't gotten them from the state yet. Many times this was after opening day! I guess that is what happens when you take the lowest printing service bid.

Pretty common anymore, and I can't tell you how many times we've bought our new licenses and not been able to get a new copy of the regs. On the plus side, the new regs don't take effect until May 1st, a month after your license expires. At least we get to fish under the "old" regs until the new ones come out. [cool]
