Paulson's Wall Street Bailout Plan

The average citizen is feeling like he is between a hard spot and a rock. Maria Godoy of NPR reported today what the Bush Administrations Bailout Plan proposal is. She wrote the following:

"The Bush administration's plan would grant the Treasury secretary nearly absolute control of the $700 billion authorized by the bailout measure. The language in the measure sent to Congress would make the Treasury secretary's decisions "non-reviewable" — including by "any court of law or any administrative agency." That would give the Treasury secretary powers that are not only extraordinary but, some would say, also unconstitutional because of the lack of accountability."

Paulson and the Administration say that this has to be passed right away. This makes me very suspicious. Do you feel that this should be passed as written, or do you feel that more accountability is needed.

Only bailout I ever got was a cup from a Happy Meal! Kept me from sinking. And I did it myself.

I have no idea if this plan will work or not.
What is interesting to me is we can bail out these companies who got themselves in this mess but can't cover healthcare for childeren because the White House in all its wisdom states"Its a form of Socialism"
This bail out plan needs some serious review before anything is passed(IMO)

All were doing is saving a bunch of idiot CEO's who overspent their fortunes on a fast life and fancy lifestyles. This is Bushes hopefully last folley. This one saves all his GOP buddies and gets the rich richer scheme. If you give your kid $100.00 and he blows it do you think giving him or her another $100.00 will work the second time?Hahahaha.

It's hard for me to give a fair assessment of the Bail out Plan without comparing it to a better or worse plan ..I feel like This proposal will take place with or without the opinion of the US Citizens (HOW CONSITIONAL IS THAT?) ...I realize that without Wall street the american dollar is worthless and that would eventually crumble our economy , but on the on hand our country will not be able to balance the budget for at least another 25+ years (11 trillion dollars in debt) ...

Placing blame is worthless at this point , so does it really matter how we feel about this Plan ?

Just my two cents ..BBD

We are not done with bail outs yet. It will get worse.
My check just keeps getting smaller, thanks to my education
survival will never be a problem. Next we will all be bailing
out wal-mart, costco and 7-11. Will it ever end? Hmm, maybe when
someone who actually cares about the people and this economy gets
elected to office.

Say you are the owner of a company. On Monday morning your accountant walks into your office as says "No one, I mean no one, has access to the company accounting records and financial assets except me. If you don't like it, there isn't anything you can do about it. You can't fire me and you certainly can't sue me".

:-k
