Weekly chat?

Post by A9 » Mon Sep 26, 2011 12:16 am

Since no one really checks the chat room these days, anyone interested in a weekly chat, sort of a set time for everyone to chat fishing and BS over the winter?

I'd be up for it - but I wouldn't be able to be a regular. Early to bed, earlier to rise and chasing a 2 year old in between..
I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker

Its a good idea. It should still be fishing chat or topics surrounding the great outdoors. If it leans towards politics or non sporting subjects there will be the need or a moderater I believe. We are all very passionate in our lives and how we communicate our ideals. Keep it clean safe and friendly.( in other words dont let that trouble maker Racish in it).

When youre up to your rear end in alligators, its hard to remember that the initial plan was to drain the swamp.

Hey Rac,
Racish must be your evil twin, I wouldn't let him on ether. It could be the end of life as we know it...

Bragging may not bring happiness, but no man having caught a large fish goes home through an alley.

I'd let Racish on before I'd let racfish on it. [scared] [biggrin]

Obviously keeping it fishing related would be the goal, or atleast close enough....:-" .

Think its fair to say we all deal with enough politics and other BS on a regular basis that there's no need to let it follow us onto a fishing board....

If we get enough interest we can find a time and day of week that works best for everyone. Seems like sundays or early in the week (m/t/w) in the evening are the best times??

It has been the policy to not moderate the chat room. We have enough as it is to watch.

I've monitored the chat room from time to time and it is pretty civil. I think the best way to approach this would be to PM members inviting them to join in the discussions. That way, you know who is going to be involved and "drop ins" wouldn't be trying to terrorize the discussions. If a moderator wants to join in on the discussions, then he can act as a moderator. He would have the administrative tools for any outrageous behavior.
