Tried To Buy Fishing License, Got Denied

Post by FishingFool » Fri Apr 20, 2012 7:33 pm

So did this happen to anyone else? Went down to the local shop to buy my license, but they said they can't. Something about a system upgrade recently done by the WDFW??? and supposely I'm one of the lucky few that got doubled up. So I'm suppose to call the WDFW and get them to delete my 2nd name/SS.

What? =;

Yes, I heard of someone else having that problem. They were going fishing the next day. It was on a fishing forum somewhere.

He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

I wanted to go tomorrow. Finally have a day off where the weather is nice. Want to take the boat out on the water to make sure winter went fine. :fish:

Ahhh Dude! That Sucks! At least it wasn't for back child support or something....... Did you try it online to see for yourself? Print the paper copy while waiting for mailed copy. Home printed is good for 10 days I believe.

I didn't complete the transaction online, but i was able to do everything just to see what would happen.

I dont think the printed version is good. It says it takes 7-10days to receive. The website states if you need it sooner, go see a retailer..... :-&

*edit*

I just bought the license online since I didn't want to call it in. No problems. And I guess the online temp version is good for bass fishing. I can fish anything that doesn't require the catch card.

Now hopefully there arent that many people at the lake...... [cursing]

I didn't misread it! It'll give ya 10 days... only thing I changed was authorization code.

$86.55 has been charged to your credit card. Your transaction detail:

The online process is pretty slick really. It is the only way I've renewed in the past few years and never had a problem. Just print the receipt for a temp and the real license comes in a couple days. You just don't get a catch card or parking permit unit the real license comes.
I fish not because I regard fishing as being terribly important, but because I suspect that so many of the other concerns of men are equally unimportant, and not nearly so much fun. ~ John Volker

Does purchasing a license online, eliminate the handling/retailer fees? Did not know the online version allowed for fishing before receiving the mailed license.

It doesn't, Motoboat. There is still a $2.50 dealer fee.

They give you something like 10 days to fish where you don't need a punchcard. Mine arrived 3 days after I applied for it. Only way to go.

We had that happen also. Out of the 4 licenses purchased one was rejected because the system indicated that a duplicate transaction was in work. Fortunately I renewed the licenses at the Holiday Sports customer service counter. Then knew exactly who to call and had it straightened out in 5 minutes. The gang at Holiday Sports in Burlington go way beyond the call of duty in assuring that their customers are satisfied with the customer service provided. They are all local folks and the scope of their expertise in almost any fishery in the state is unmatched.

Not likely as that has already been discussed, not to mention the problem was stated in the opening post.
