I-82 Ponds Listed Together?

Help me understand why all 7 ponds are listed as 1.

Doesn't it defeat the purpose of fishing reports if the ponds contain different populations/species?
Any specific info seems relatively useless if the pond # isn't provided in the report. (which for some reason it rarely is)
Ponds that are next to each other such as 4&5 make sense to list together as you can walk between them but I'm not so sure about the rest. This was what I first noticed when I came to this site to figure out these ponds.

Sounds good, altho I know nothing about the ponds, how many there are, or where they all are. I have noticed a pond or two along I-5 west of Ellensberg and have seen people fishing there.

Sounds like a decent request. I'm not a moderator so can't help you. Probably Mike will jump in here soon.
I really just wanted to tell you that your avitar is WAY cool. [thumbup]

The mods can't do anything about it, only admin can.

It's because when lakes get added to the database it's usually by request, then I look up what info I can find and I add it to the database.

If you have the specific info on each lake I can work on seperating them out, although the reports that are currently in there will be trickier to move around.

What I would need is a list of each pond, and the specific info you know about each one. If you're willing to put in the effort to do this I'm willing to update the list.

Send the info to mike@washingtonlakes.com. I can't promise how fast of a turn-around I will be able to do, but I will do it.

That might help you put something together Pokey. I just don't make it to Yakima much.

The last thing I need to make this happen is the Lat/Long numbers for each pond. Can you get those for me?

Once I do this each pond will be listed as a lake in the Index, however, the reports that are currently in place, unless they specify which pond it is, will remain under the the generic "I-90 Ponds".

I-82 ponds (8 to 30 acres): These seven gravel pit ponds stretch from Union Gap to Zillah along Highway I-82. The ponds are open to fishing year-round, but parking and access is subject to seasonal closure. Gasoline-powered motors are prohibited by county ordinance. Ponds 1, 2, 3, 4 & 6 are stocked with catchable sized rainbow trout beginning in early March. Ponds 1 and 2, located between Mellis Road and Donald Road, also support largemouth bass, yellow perch, and pumpkinseed sunfish. Expect fair fishing for small pan-sized perch and sunfish. Pond 3 which is east of Donald Road, provides fair fishing for channel catfish, sunfish and yellow perch. Moving further east, Ponds 4 and 5 (accessed from Flint Lane) has fair fishing for sunfish, bass, and channel catfish. Channel cats over 10 pounds have been caught in ponds 3, 4 and 5. Buena or Pond 6 is located off Buena Loop Road, and should have good early-season fishing for stocked rainbow trout and channel catfish. The state record channel cat (36.2 pounds!) came from Buena in 1999. Pond 7 is east of Buena, has a fair population of largemouth bass, black crappie, and channel catfish. Bass up to 8 pounds have been caught in the I-82 ponds. Access to all ponds except Ponds 4 and 6 is by walk-in. However, there is a new access road that borders Highway I-82 that allows much closer access to Ponds 1 and 2.

This is now done. I will try to go back through the reports and move them to the right lakes when there is note of what lake it is.

Got about a quarter of the reports moved to their proper ponds. If there is no mention in the report what pond it is I'll just leave it in the I-82 Ponds list and that can be the "catch-all" for reports that don't specify one pond, or where guys have fished several ponds.

Can you double check these locations? We received a feedback that Ponds 1,2,3 did not seem right. I have no idea the locations, so if you could check each pond's info page (check the google map) to confirm the locations are correct?

Thanks!

I took the data right off the WDFW pdf. Using Google maps it seems the WDFW co-ordinates are off.. Ponds 1 & 2 are about 20' from one another separated by a berm @ 46.48229,-120.405997. Pond 3 is 46.468177,-120.383209 where the access road ends.
