When viewing the site on my Android the top banner you have in the big blue header moves down and over the the links section and makes navigation pretty tricky to impossible.
the whole section of links is covered..
I am 100% mobile internet browser outside of working hours..

Yup, been mentioned, commented on, and looked into. Aaron is procceding on how to fix that problem. Thankyou.
Oh ya, you probably mean 'absolete' as "get rid of it".

No, absolute is a css positioning rule. The element is positioned relative to its first positioned (not static) ancestor element. With the upgrade there are probably a few quirks that need to be worked out.

gone is good too..
a static position works too.
for you Amx ;)
Absolute Positioning:
An element whose position property has the value absolute is said to be absolutely positioned, and is completely removed from the document flow: it doesn’t affect subsequent elements at all. It’s positioned with respect to its containing block, and it establishes a new containing block for normal flow children, and for descendants whose position property is set to absolute.

Like mentioned before in other posts I have a fix for this coming. Probably tonight if I have the energy. I have a site-wide template overhaul in the works.

Too much computer talk for me.

I can barely pronounce 'computer'.

The static position would take it out of the flow, which would bump up everything underneath it. It'd be a hassle. I don't know what the mobile site looks like, my phone aint fancy like that. Web savvy fishermen! What's the world coming to.

I like the latest banner with the links, it brings back the feel of the old site and keeps me from having to jump all over the place.

It was never our intention to have the forum be completely separate from the rest of the site (i.e. without menus) but it was more important for us to get the forum online first than to get it all working together as one. The site was going offline for hours at a time at random intervals and it was the old forum that was causing it. Now that the two are synced up everything should be easier again.
BTW, I count this banner ad placement problem as solved. As well, that d--n John Deer ad should be gone today. That rollover action is killing me.
naughty naughty, no swearing. - edited by = amx, today's 'bad mod'.

Menu looks great now. I figured you were working on something, but this is is better than I was hoping for.

Jealous. I just spent a week in Minneapolis and actually had frost on my windshield one morning. At least it was sunny. I was in Austin last year and I could quickly see why it has such a great reputation.
