MOBILE VERSION

Post by nichalos82 » Tue Jun 22, 2010 10:55 pm

I think it would be great idea to engineer a mobile version of this website. This would give us the opportunity to create very current reports for people who are having a difficult time determining where to fish while on the go. Sure we can look at the regular version of the website on our phone but the time it takes it to load and the ways things can get garbled makes it less desirable. What do you all think about that idea? Any other functionallity you would like to see available from your phone?

I'm not a mobile user, however I think it is a great idea. Not sure what all is involved with making it happen, it seems to be the way of the future though and you have to believe that it will happen eventually. I was even wondering the other day if linking to Twitter via our blogs would be something that would interest members. The other bonus I see with embracing new technology is the uptick in younger members.

I second having a Mobile version. It doesn't need to be full featured. Just something you can look at and fill in fishing reports, posting to blogs, integration with Twitter or FB for quick posting.

Forums would be nice, but since it's powered by a different source than the rest of the site it may be more time consuming.

Either way, getting more accessibility to your site into the hands of members isn't going to hurt your site.

I used to post a lot of reports, but haven't posted on in over a year. The forum works great for my phone. Just no the rest of the site.

The wife has a Driod OS phone and this site functions just fine on it. I haven't run across anything on the site that I could not access with it, I'm guessing this is more likely due to a function of the browser capability on the phone though.
