Quick search for a fishing buddy

Post by reelman » Sat Feb 25, 2012 10:34 am

How cool would it be to have a place to post that you're going fishing and looking for someone to go with you. Something like this:

"Hey, I'm going to be wetting a fly on the Spokane tomorrow. Anyone want to meet me at Sullivan Park next to the Sullivan bridge tomorrow at 8?"

There doesn't seem to be anywhere on the site to do this. Let me know what you think.

I like the idea of a seperate thread. One that can hook up a couple of guys on short notice. The open baot seat thread seems to be kind of a place for setting up something out a little further. I have had several occasions where someone cancelled on me or everyone I normally fish with in unavailable. A new thread that says, I'm going this weekend or even I'm going tomorrow would be a great chance for folks to hook up on shorter notice. I might post that I'm going after pike in a day or so and someone with free time on their hands that has never fished for them might jump at the chance to go.
I would be a regular visitor to a thread like this.

I agree. The other thread is sort of a who's who, of what type of fish you like, and what boat youhave. It's nice, but I will say I fish with guys from here all the time, and I never PM someone based on a 2-3 year old message from the open seat thread. Lots of times you are just looking for a spontanious fishing partner.
