Education needs our help

Post by kokapaw » Sun Apr 27, 2014 2:24 am

My name is Steve Hastings, I am one of the Directors of the Puyallup Historical Hatchery foundation. You can find our facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/PuyallupHistor" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ... Foundation You can also watch this News Store produced by PCTV - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GqE7gDNGLLM" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; on our efforts.

We started our journey about a year ago. Working with the State to help secure the long term viability of the Puyallup Fish Hatchery. The Puyallup hatchery was started in 1946, and has run continuous since 1949, it is now on the Puyallup Historic Registry, The State Historic Registry and is only one a small number of Hatcheries that is on the National Historic Registry.

The PHHF is a 501 c3 tax exempt Not for profit. To date we have raised through donation about $25,000.00. Most of which has gone to get the Education Center ready to open (its a converted 1/2 of a duplex on site) see the facebook page for pictures.

We have the grand opening of our Education Center onsite scheduled for May 10th. It should be quite the event.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been unable to secure the necessary donations of Salmon, Steelhead, Trout and Pan Fish, fishing tackle to fill 4 Shadow boxes ( see the attached photo for an example) for our Fishing Room in the Education center. I am an avid Bass Angler and am donating all the tackle needed for the Bass Shadowbox, but my supply of gear for Salmon, Trout, Steelhead and Pan fish is pretty limited. (I know.. shamefull for a kid that grew up on the Cowlitz)

So I am looking for either Individual donations, or a Sponsoring company that would like to have their name as the Donor on the Shadow boxes. (Beggars are very flexible)

I am attempting to fill 4 more 17"X30" shadow boxes with gear/ rigs specific to the species above mentioned.

If you can help or have a good contact at one of our many local tackle manufactures that could cover some or all of these bases, please call me (253) 691-6905

If you simply want more information, call me.

Thank you,

Steve Hastings
