hmmm, about 300 ft? Not far and we could probably do it together without any problem. see you in the morning! And to eeryone else, assuming we grab the spot I plan on getting (which is why we will be there at opening) the area you can beach your boat will be very close to the picnic and your boat and gear will be under the watchful eyes of WL.com members.

I had a good time at the shindig today. It was good to finally put the faces to the names. Do we really have to wait a year for the next one.....?

Holy Smoley!! That was some kind of fun!

LOVED the casting game. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Y'all gotta know I'm coming next year with a rod. I was afraid of messing up somebody else's.
Yeah, uh...that's it! it was an unfamiliar rod & reel.... :-" cough cough......next year!!
So nice to meet everyone, what a great bunch of folks...
redneck: really IMPRESSIVE kayak... I 'll be looking them up on on-line.

Mike & Aaron: kudos again. Thanks again. You keep so many people connected
and give us all a chance to meet fellow anglers, what a class act.

Honored to be a part of it.

I agree. Thanks for the site, thanks for putting this on, and all the other people who helped out with the event. Went very smoothly and bummed I missed last year. The fishing at Samammish was pretty good I'd say, not alot of boat traffic to deal with compared to some weekends. I myself caught a 3.0 and 1.8 lb smallies. My girlfriend Susan was beating me early by catching 3 different species, squawfish, perch, followed by a 11 inch smallie. Perch are pretty heavy in schools, complete oppisite that I have seen from Lake WA this year. Those Sam Smallies are eating good, should be some fatties caught in august through Sept.
Here's the best pic of my fish. Susan threw her SM back before I asked to take a pic.

Here's a picture of the kid that won the kid's casting contest.
I can't attach it because it is too big. I will try to figure this out and post later.
Thanks for the great picnic and activities Mike, Fishinislife and Bigbassdez. It was great to get to put faces to so many people that we talk to on this forum.

I'll say it was a fun day! Special thanks to Fishinislife for running the event and BIgBassDez for being the Casting Contest MC - great job, you're a natural!

Yes, have to wait a year, this is all I can handle, LOL.

I'll go fishing Monday, very possibly at Sammamish. It's so close but I haven't even fished it this year. I've been inspired!

As to next year, I like the idea of moving the event around so we can make it closer for other members each time. And, I'm really liking the idea of running our first ever WL.com Fishing Derby. Aaron is on board, so I think I'll get a planning thread up and running on this next.

Thanks everyone for showing up and making it a great day!
