Just have one more question regarding crabbing in puget sound. I crab in area 10, off of Shilshoe marina, balard.
When I was pulling in the other night a fellow boater said I should set my pots at 85 ft. depth. He said this because he knew that I was in about 30 ft. of water.

At what depth do most of you find success?

Every spot is a different story. Some places I go no deeper then 30 feet even at a high tide. Other places, I have to put my boat over 80 feet of water...
It all depends. Your best bet is to place them in depths of like 40-50-60 and continue changing around depths until you find a good depth thats producing.
And if your getting a bunch of females, put the pots out deeper. The females usually run shallower then the males, so just a little tip...
