pier fishing (specifically elliot bay?)

Post by bpm2000 » Fri Jul 27, 2007 11:20 pm

What are the basics I need to know for fishing off a pier? I am thinking about hitting up the elliot bay fishing pier a couple of times this summer if I get the chance.

equipment? etiquette? etc?

thanks

(is the pier fishing here primarily a salmon thing? i imagine people arn't eating too many bottom fish out of elliot bay..)

I've been to Edmonds pier a couple times, bunch of people using wilson darts and buzz bombs for salmon. I've never had any luck, only seen a couple guys hook up. It's combat fishing at it's max. I tried bottom fishing with no luck either, not sure what I'm doing wrong. I wish I could help out more.
