Piggie out of a meadow

Post by fishingmachine » Thu Jul 30, 2009 7:47 pm

Fished this morning out of shilshoe with my buddy Stanford aka Sean. We head out of the marina at 4:45am and head straight to meadow point and began our troll around the green buoy. We are joined with around 15 other boats and some of the locals out there. We were both fishing Green Hotspots with Green SplatteBack Hoochies. We have one rod set at 65 and the other at 95 feet in 120 feet of water. No longer than 20 minutes later the 95 foot rod bounces twice and pops outta the clip and buries. I grab it and drive the hook into it. The fish immediatly takes a 140 yard run. I gain some line back as the other boats clear out around us. The fish dives to the bottom again. i keep the pressure on him and about 10 minutes later we boat a 36inch 26 pound chrome bright fresh king. My personal best.
WHAT A PIG. The rest of the day was slow with a baby king we released and about ten flounder and a baby silver.

I will post some pics later when i get them from my buddy and also off my camera

Good grief Austin, it seemed like just a couple of years ago you were a complete bass newbie. Now you have a ton of really nice smallies under your belt...... and you JUST CAUGHT A 26LB KING:cheers:   right out in front of me, while I was on my local beach probably looking at your boat. I was fishing a beach right out near Shilshole at 5:30 am. I was watching those boats.
Anyway, your fishing skills/prowess (sp?) are standing tall! PICS PLease...

Nice work man. Good to hear you landed such a slab of meat. I'm headed out tomorrow morning, going to try to be on the water by 4am and going to stick closer to the marina side this time rather than crossover over to JH.
