here's a little rundown for anyone interested in the summer salmon seasons/regulations...

Pretty good article. Looks like quota's for the Area 9 King fishery will be a little lower this year...

Good Article, Looks like another good summer for salmon fishing. Too bad I'll be working and fishing all summer in Alaska instead. When the Green River Kings roll through, it can be riot in the sound!

Area 10 quota is 3,000 chinook, and Area 9 is 4,000.

This will be filled in the first week. Better start planning now and getting weekdays off.

It took 13 days for Area 9's quote to get filled, and they got about 6000 last year because just over a 1000 of the total 7000 was alloted to Area 10, this year it's more balanced and each Marine Area should, if fishing is as good as it was last year, be done in a week or so. Maybe 10 days at best...

Too bad they did not change the size limit up a few inches.A lot of people were keeping the small fish instead of releasing them and trying to get the bigger ones. With a larger size restriction, the fishery would have lasted longer.

I heard on the radio this morning that there will be some King fishing in the ocean out of Wesport, but no King fishing inside of Grays Harbor. They also said the Silver quota would be one of the lowest in the last decade.

AMEN!!!!!
I heard (and wouldn't doubt ONE BIT of it) that more then 50% of the quota was filled with fish that were barely legal (just meeting the minimum length requirement or a few inches longer)
There were a lot of NICE fish topping 10, 15, even 20lbs that were fin clipped, thus allowable for retention, that could have made up the quota. Instead, barely legal native blackmouth took most of that quota...#-o
