Haven't lost a fish yet this season all fish I have caught have both hooks on them when landed. I actually haven't tried single hook setup but I'm not a fan of swivel to hook. I prefer line directly to hook. Although friends using spoons caught as many fish but have lost a few bringing them inretired11 wrote:How's the hook up rate with the double hook setup Vs the single hook? Looks good.... I use a similar setup with superbaits.riverhunter wrote:Yea I replace them with a double hook setup. I downsize the hook by one then the original to keep it working great. I also switch out line for flurocarbon I normally use. It comes with flurocarbon line already but I like a stiffer line when saltwater so the flasher imparts a little action on whatever lure I'm using. So far I've been using the 2.8" for blackmouth and coho primary colors green/white with pink underside, chartreuse/black with white underside, and blue/black with white underside in that order. I have picked up a few of the bigger sizes but haven't gotten around to using them as the 2.8" have been working great for me

Wow! I thought I had a lot of gear tied up. But I'm an amateur compared to you and I thought I was a gear addict. Maybe you need to look into the FGA (Fishing Gear Anonymous).

I tried to buy some Old Goats on line. I filled in all the info and got down to the final point where said submit and it just seem to freeze up and didn't connect. I sent them an email. I buy a lot of fishing stuff on line and this is the first time I've had trouble. Maybe their website isn't working.

First off, make sure you weren't charged by checking your debit / credit account.BARCHASER wrote:I tried to buy some Old Goats on line. Assuming there was no ding to the account, try another browser. If you are running firefox as an example, try chrome or microsoft edge.
It is often the browser we use, though sometimes websites have their glitches.
The best of luck sorting this out!

Tried it again tonight and now it worked. Must have been a glitch.

Yesterday count - what do you think?
Re: Puget Sound salmon season
Looks pretty good to me. I'll be out tomorrow. Had a bunch of stuff to do yesterday and today. I checked the on line fish checker reports and Port Townsend had a 50% success ratio on Monday. That's both good and bad. Means there are plenty fish coming but it could also mean the fish are getting hung up at mid channel bank which happens in some years.

I left Camano Island State park at 4am this morning. I had my gear in the water at 5am. First fish 5:15am about 10 minute's before official sunrise. Then tried to catch a Coho to make it a limit. Caught 3 small ones trolling 3.8mph, then at 6:30 caught another king that really gave me a great fight. I headed home then and was at the dock at 7:30. The west bar was hooping with nets flying every where.

Cool! What were you using? I do pretty well at Pilot Pt on the incoming. So tomorrow morning I'll prob do Pilot for an hour or so, see how it goes, if nothing going on then switch to Possession. Lots of seals?

Re: Puget Sound salmon season
I saw one seal and the fish I caught looked like it had a close call with a seal or a gill net. I was using a purple haze flasher and a kingslayer spoon. I can't remember how to post a pic., sorry.
Re: Puget Sound salmon season
Pilot Pt was pretty good this AM. Hooked 3 landed 2 and done by 8AM. Small fish though, 8 and 10. I thought they were Blackmouth but one guy at the Marina said that even the Chinooks at Neah are running small. One guy at the Marina had 3 and one was 12 other two small also.
They looked more like ocean fish, fatter than Blackmouth usually are and very prominent spots on the back, just small. I counted 46 boats at Pilot and lots and lots of crab buoys. It was kinda breezy early so some guys may have left Possession.
I will try again tomorrow. Cop Car Kingfisher spoons, 100 and 120.
