Edmonds Area Beaches to Buzz Bomb Resident Coho
Has anyone waded out about 3-5' and casted buzz bombs off local area beaches for coho as of late? There is a strong push of fish right now heading up the Cedar, and I was wondering if there is a fishery off local beaches. I know fly guys and gals that do well for sea-runs, but I was wondering about the resident coho and even king salmon, as they come in shallow to feed on the sand shrip and other food sources. Any advice or suggestions on beaches of interest would be much appreciated. The fishing for cutthroat trout has all but come to a grinding halt as they are in spawning mode until late March. I need another fishery ;)

The south sound beaches tend to be better for resident coho this time of year.
The only advice I can give is do NOT wade out 3-5 feet. They will hit close to shore, even at your feet, depending on the tide and how aggressive they will be to chase your lure.
Oh.. area 9 (Edmonds area) does not open again for salmon until Jan 16 and so there probably were not too many people salmon fishing off the beaches "as of late" in the Edmonds area

The only beach fishing I've heard of lately that's productive is steelhead. Natives should be running in bigger numbers in short time....
Again, don't wade out. For steelhead, stand up about 10 feet from the water....They travel in 4-6 feet of water, so you don't want to spook them...
