Anybody know some good public ground to go to for grouse on the Olympic Peninsula? I don't want to steal people's honeyhole, just some recommended forest roads to drive down, etc. I took the Palo Alto road into the Olympic Nat'l forest on labor day and only saw one about 150 yds away.

there hasn't been many that I've seen around the satsop this year, think they're towards the bottom of they're population cycle. tons of snowshoe hare and a few mountain quail though.

Check out the Humptulips area. Dad and I used to go down Donkey Creek road. Check out all the logging roads that shoot off. They like to hang out in the gravel on or near the roads. They used to scare the crap out of me deer hunting there HAHA!

I used to go deer hunting and grouse hunting about 30 miles west of Shelton back in the 90's but haven't been back that way since I moved back here. Used to do very well.
