Any idea how to add my wife as a registered/legal owner on my boat? Thanks

Go down to your local dept of licensing office. Be sure to take all the ID with you. You might be able to do it on-line, but I suspect you will need to show some ID for the person you are adding.

You'll both need to go down together or have the forms notarized in advance. It's pretty much the same process as if you were selling it to someone else. When I told the wife that she had to make a trip to the DMV, her desire to be on the title went away!

When you do this make sure you add an 'or' between the names or BOTH of you will need to be present if you ever sell the item. If you are in Washington a wife is automatically the owner if you pass. If that is why you are doing it.
