RE:Canoe or Inflatable?
I have no good place to park or store any normal boat. So after considering inflatables, and other small boats, I decided on a porta-bote, which folds up flat for easy storage and car-topping. I ordered a 12 footer which I have not recieved yet. You can put a small gas motor on the transom, but I am going to start with just a beefy electric troller. Porta-botes are not cheap, but it seems to fit my needs. See www.porta-bote.com.
==urban== please don't tell me to C&R or to fish your way, thank you

Thanks! I considered buying an inflatable boat but I'm way too clumsy to ride around in something that can be punctured by hooks or sharp rocks/sticks...KurtO wrote:Hey Hillbilly, That is a perfect set up you have there. Toyota are a mans second best friend.

Well, I ended up getting a temporary solution to my family vessel so I could get a better solution at the end of the season. I bought an Intex Mariner 4 on sale at Cabela's and ordered the motor mount for it last night. Its no Zodiac, but it should do fine in the near term.

I personaly have a 8 foot inflatable pontoon boat from sportsmans warehouse they are pretty cheap and they are stable as hell. It would be really difficult to tip. (I tried... it takes a lot!) They are even rated for some river rafting. Its pretty light and can go just about anywhere. Just throw it in the back of the truck and your good to go. As for the part about air leaks and not being very strong these things can take a beating. I have drug my boat over rocks, logs and whatever else was in the way. The boat has never let me down.

I have a Achilles that I would sell make offer.
Achilles Inflatable outboard inflatable has a hypalon hull, is 12 feet long and 61 inches wide at the widest point. The boat weighs approximately 121 pounds with an empty fuel tank and without any gear or passengers. The maximum horsepower we have listed for this outboard boat is 25 hp . If repowering you will want to verify the max horsepower for safety and to make sure your insurance company will insure your boat.
This boat was made between 1990 to 1995 is in excellent condition was used by original owner I was told less and five times before he passed away in fresh water only I set it up 6 times and used once in fresh water. Reason selling to hard for me to set up with my physical limitations. Need money to by pontoon boat. If interested make offer will consider all offers.
