Wiser Lake

For the 4th of July, i visit people at lake wiser. The whole day while everyone was eating and playing and doing everything else, i was fishing. I was determined to catch a big fish because i heard all of these storys of monster bass eating baby ducks and 15 lb Bulhead Catfish [pretty sure that was a lie] but believed there are big ones thier.

So i fished for bass from about noon to five on a boat and only caught 1, about 2lbs on a baby bass colored crankbait. personal best, lol.

when i got of the boat, i just fished from the shore. I knew it was to early for catfish so i casted out yellow and white crappie jigs just to waste time. I ended up catching a bass, really small though, then some sunfish or bluegill. i was told bluegill by some then sunfish by others. the panfish really didnt hook themselfs well, so i switched to worms and caught like 40. many where as big as my hand.

at about 7, i knew fireworks words start soon, so i just said whatever and through out a big worm and a bobber to get a catfish. At first i caught a small one, and later i caught a bigger one just before fireworks and that fullfilled my large fish need.

Does anyone ever fish Wiser Lake? Pretty muddy, looks nasty, but it has fish. Im sure a skilled bass fisherman can get some trophy bass thier. Motor boats are allowed.

The pictures are of my small bass, my small cat, my ok cat, and the sunfish/bluegill. btw can someone tell me what it is, sunfish or bluegill?

The red ear will tell you that it is a pumpkinseed sunfish. I have fished the lake a few times in the past and done quite well on largemouth bass.
