Riffe Lake near Fishing Bridge?

Hi, I would like to try Riffe Lake for salmon but have a fishing kayak (Hobie pro angler 12). From what I've read the lake can get rather windy and rough. I was thinking of fishing the area of the Taidnapam North boat launch to the fishing bridge as the lake is smaller there, maybe less boat traffic as well. Has anyone tried that area with success trolling? Thanks in advance.
