Where's everybody fishing for the opener ?

Post by FishnFred » Mon May 04, 2020 9:57 am

We've all been waiting to legally go fishing again. I'll leave the political discussion for another's time, I'm just ready to go catch something again!
So where's your first choice?
I'm going bass fishing on a small lake in a rural county to avoid any crowd.
You should tell us how it worked out too, hope the gates are unlocked tomorrow morning, they sure locked them in a hurry!

Drove to Cottage Lake today. Park gate was closed with sign that read No Fishing.

I fished Nahwatzel in Mason. Moderately crowded, but was still able to easily maintain social distancing. Didn't use any bait so I could catch and release; they stocked the heck out of it with 5,200 smaller trout and 600 Big'uns. It was ridiculous; couldn't hardly get a line out without having a fish on. I released dozens of smaller trout, and kept 3 fat rainbows; the largest was a 6.8lb that thought it was an ornery salmon.....
