Unless you like seeing fishing habitat turning into a world class "rowing center", I'd suggest showing up for the meeting in Graham on 4/23 and ask to approve the aquatic preserve. Or write Olympia!

Just another land grab. Every angler in this State needs to way in on this or we will all lose. If they take this lake away from the Sportsmen they will get the next one easier.

Here is what the DNR responded with when I contacted them:

DNR wants to make sure Lake Kapowsin can continue to be enjoyed and studied as it currently is. As you may have read in the Tacoma News Tribune, others have different plans for it.
A meeting to talk about the lake's future is being organized by Sen. Randi Becker and Representatives J.T. Wilcox and Andrew Barkis. It will be April 23 at 6 p.m. at Graham Fire Station 94. DNR will be on hand to discuss our reserve proposal. In the meantime, you can find out a little more at http://www.dnr.wa.gov/managed-lands/aqu ... e-kapowsin" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
We will be putting out reminders over the next couple weeks, so stay tuned. If you have any other questions, feel free to contact Public Information Officer Joe Smillie at joe.smillie@dnr.wa.gov or 360-902-1169.

This needs attention. Of all the lakes that could be used for something like the 'rowing center' -I'd hate to see something like that happen at Kapowsin.

Fire station 94 is the one on 70th Ave. just off 224th. There needs to be a showing there on the 23rd.

Opening day of fishing....good planing on there part. 6 pm helps but I am sure many who want to make just might be to tired or unable to make due to camping as many due on opening day. Sure hope they have more then one meeting that is fair to fishermen and women it has a impact on.

Unfortunately, money will win.
Forgiveness is between them and God. My job is to arrange the meeting!
