Car Prowls/Breakins @ Boat Ramps

Post by Salmon King » Thu Apr 07, 2016 1:04 pm

Hey guys...
I know it's a little early in the year but has anyone had problems at any of the lakes yet this year?
I'm a little hesitant to go to some lakes after reading past posts concerning breakins.

Probably not a concern up in your neck of the woods but early in the a.m. (0630hrs) on the way to the VA last week there were some tweakers messing around at the launch on American Lake. Only 2 trailers in the lot at that time, probably koke fishers. I asked them first politely, and then a little less politely to vacate the area. Hung around awhile, and checked back a few hours later on the way home and everything seemed OK.

I drive an ugly minivan and don't leave anything in there, especially the garage door opener. That's always been my biggest concern, they find that and take a peek at your registration and head to your house to clean it out knowing you're tied up on the water for a few hours.
