Coho in the snohomish?

Hi all,
I've never fished coho before, but I live fairly close to Thomas Eddy on the snohomish river so I thought it might be worth a try. I was wondering, what are some good techniques to try for them and when does it start to heat up? I've done pinks before but it sounds like coho are a completely different animal.

you can catch coho on some of the same pink setups.. personally i used coho color dick nites for pinks hoping to knock off some coho too.. and i always caught a tons of pinks and a coho here and there..
right now your best bet is dynamite! those fish are finicky right now..

not very many fish yet, but it's still early. Prime season is probably late september thru october. Spoons work well for coho, but spinners, such as blue foxes, rvrfshr, mepps, work very well for silvers. Use a slow retrieve and you'll have a great chance. Coho love spinners.

Are there any colors that you would recommend for the spinners?

i've had the most success with the firetiger pattern of blue fox. Its mostly chartruese, with a little dab of orange. chartruese is one of your best bets. Silver blades work well too with various color bodies. Pink, orange, yellow, green, blue, silver bodies all work.
50/50 blades work well too. Anything that is flashy will get their attention. But when in doubt, i'd use chartruese due to my experiences.
