Ballard Locks Fish Counts

Hi All,

The locks have hit 10 K as of the 17th - does anyone know if is this something to get excited about?

Not really I suppose. We cant fish them til they get an escapement of 350,000 fish, and they only predict about 46,000 this year.

The counts have been wrong before.........for this reason, get excited!

Haven't had a season in many years. To many things have to happen positively before it will happen. The most important thing is to get the tribe to the table. In the last few years they haven't even come to the table and if they won't talk there is no season period. They hold all the cards.

I'm always excited to see fish come over the ladder at the locks. It means that there are fish out in the Sound to be caught!

Have you had any success catching Sockeye in the Sound?

Not so much - I pick up mostly silvers and pinks, if they are in, when I do try.
