Pikeminnows/Squawfish

Post by JT26 » Wed Jul 11, 2007 12:14 am

Does anybody enjoy catching them? it seems like everyone hates them and tries to kill them. i know they eat salmon eggs but they are still fish! I caught my first one this weekend at lake washington. I thought i had something nice on at first, even though it kind of quit. Pretty fun actually, and i would love to target them when nothing else bites.

the mouth of the cedar river is loaded with them. be careful though you have to look at the regs first. i believe its artificial only and you have to c & r is you catch anything. if im getting skunked i can always count on atleast a pike minnow to bite. een though its like a small stick swimming towards you lol.

Thats why I hate em - i wouldnt mind them so much if they tried to put up a fight, but its like pulling in a big stick or a log after the inital bite.
