I agree. I heard the birds last night (the springtime bird calls) and it just smelled like spring. It's 50.5F right now in Kirkland the last four days we have broken the 52F mark! Spring is almost here.

blackmouth once, then, my treks over the mountain to potholes, the snake, or below mcnary dam on the columbia for bass/walleye, will become regular (3 week-ends a month).

I'm going to Lake Langlois a bunch this summer. Lots of good bass structure and 100 foot depths for huge rainbows. I'll mostly bass fish though.

Hey Sam. Sweet, that's awesome. I'll definately take you up on that offer. Thanks for your willingness to help out! I'd love to plan some fish trips with you this summer and learn some new areas and tactics from you...I'm really no trout expert at all, other than cutts on Lake Washington - I have that one down though...and I'd be willing to spill a lot of my secret knowledge on this fishery, if you are at all interested. Are these lakes around here or are they secret lakes that you know and fish? Go ahead and send me a PM and let's talk about it...it'd be fun to fish with you this summer, and perhaps some others on this site, if you'll be around this summer. I'll return to school in late August...not sure when you return...September perhaps? Thanks! :compress:

I heard Langlois is just a blast to fish in the late summer evenings for large carry-overs. I've never been out there...had an amazingly hard time finding the actual lake...does anyone have a good map and good directions??...this would be a fun lake to fish when it opens with the rest of them.

I'll try and dig up the directions. But we had the directions drilled into our heads the hard way when my dad forgot his license and realized it three seconds before launching. Driving back and forth through that area four times that day what felt like 10 miles each way kinda sucked. Very pretty lake though, that day I caught my first bass that I was actually trying for.

lol...wow...3-seconds before the launch - no license! Man, that does hurt...oh well...Thanks iPod! Wow, you went full out and got the directions full-form from Kirkland, WA, I'm most impressed. Thanks a ton. I see where I went wrong - I took NE 32nd ST off 203 not NE 24th ST like I should have and drove into someone's personal farm. This makes sense, as I need to hit up NE 24th ST instead. I appreciate that link to that map -- I think I can go from there. If you do manage to dig up those directions just PM them over. Thanks again iPod and maybe I'll see you out there this summer?! - I'm in a 10' white zoom zodiac inflatible raft.

Cool. I'll be either in an orange canoe or a little tiny cheapo yellow raft from Joes (can't bring trailers, little tiny launch area). You'll be on a winding kind of hill road for a little bit as you get closer to the launch.

Ill be fishing Rufus for a couple more months for the trips and then up into the mountains to hit the hike in lakes and streams and then it's Salmon season on the rivers.

Awesome, sounds good. I'll see you out there pretty soon as time is flying by! My raft is a carry-in and I've found it is great for small lakes and I even floated the Cedar River from Landsburg into Lake Washington on that thing in 1 day when it was 98F outside with my brother. It was intense. I snapped my gorgeous fly-rod and my brother hooked 1 nice 19" cutt. He also had several other hook-ups with a bloody-mary and more sinking nymphs. I didn't fare so well in the fishing department though, only one 9" cutt. It was blisterin hot that day - around 84F when we launched at 10am and by 2:30pm it was 100F in Renton, WA... when we floated the 17 some miles it was like 7:15pm and I was so tired when we got back to the launch and had our truck waiting for us. The fact we floated it in this raft was crazy. We passed gorgeous cliffs, almost flipped the raft, rode rapids, snapped fly rods, and got high and dry on a huge rock in the middle of a challenging river run....white water was all around us and we were victim to the river...I am still amazed we walked away that day with our lives...I lost my sunglasses (really expensive) only to have my brother run down stream in his hip-waders to recover them with his hands acting like a glove in the water...it was pure luck that he just plucked them from the river like he did...I'll never forget that day in July...a day I snapped my rod, a day we could have lost our lives! Lesson learned, never float the Cedar River for 17 miles and don't go into Lake Washington. The bottom of our raft was punctured many times and we escaped with our digital cameras (thank God) and were able to upload them to our video albums. The sheer cliffs and cutbanks most people don't see, we saw, and I would recommend people to float the Cedar on a cloudy day, with middle of the road CFS and clear water -- you'll do very well on the cutthroat trout fishing! See you out on Langlois with the same boat that made this crazy voyage! Take care!

Another fun thing that might get you potentially killed is standing up on a tube on Lake Sammamish going 35 mph. Too many boats!

lol...I know...we actually only did around 2 hours of fishing -- the other 7 hours was spent trying not to die! No joke!!
