Independence and North Lakes

Post by Chromer » Sat Jul 04, 2015 1:14 pm

Anybody fish these lakes, particularly North Lake? I know people on here have fished independence with success, especially with bigger trout. I was wondering if the hike beyond independence to North is worth it?

Thanks!

Chromer, I am very familiar with Independance and Coal lake. Sorry, I have never gone over the ridge to North lake.
Independance used to produce some 15-16" fish for me, but I haven't fished it quite awhile.

Last time I hiked a float tube in, and fished primarily in the middle, and towards where the trail enters the lake.

I have been interested in making the short hike into the other lake in the chain, Pass lake. This one is more difficult to find the access trailhead. It is located right near the bend in the road, which is slightly pass Coal lake on the dirt road.

Have you ever found this lake?
