Depends on species. I have caught triploids that pushed 15 lbs in Eastern WA. My biggest resident bow was 6 lbs out of Lake Roosevelt. I have caught Brook Trout up to about 4 lbs in E WA as well on Twin Lakes in Ferry County. Dollies pushing 4 lbs... never caught a brown trout or laker yet though! Biggest kokanee (silver trout) pushing 5 lbs, out of Lake Roosevelt near the San Poil arm.

Have been fortunate enough to land a few pretty nice fish over my fishing career. The following are my best fly caught "trout". All caught on casted flies, hand tied by me and the fish released (weights approx).
Brook trout - 4#
Cutthroat - 5#
Brown - 10#
Resident rainbow - 8 1/2#
Lake rainbow - 20#
Bull trout - low 20s
Sometimes it is just better to be lucky than good!
Tight lines

Cutthroat: 24"
Steelhead: 21 lbs.
I've caught a bunch pushing 20" and some big trips up to 26". Never had a chance to fish rufus but those monster look gigantic. Still chasing my first Mack, that's my goal this year. But some of the best eating fish are the little guys in the alpine lakes, they taste way better than stockies.
