Tomorrow, first light, where to go? -river options

Post by odddoylerules » Tue Jul 05, 2016 5:15 pm

So we're dropping my sister off at the airport at 4am and then fishing. Just don't know where yet or for what.

If YOU were going out tomorrow am (as a bankie) where might you consider setting up shop?

If I were you and ESPECIALLY since you said kings/steel, I'd go down to the Cowlitz!
If you are a bankie id suggest the barrier dam below the salmon hatchery or right by blue creek bear the trout hatchery!
I wish I was headed down there tomorrow!

No fishing at first light, flight cancelled when we arrived and replaced with flight direct to Denver @850 + 2hr bus ride so.... dunno if I'll even hit the water at the bass hole let alone drive south... I'm a little late for that

Maybe you could just hit up Angle Lake since you'll be in Seatac?

We ended up at a lake spot, caught a couple bass but then spent the afternoon observing bluegill and smaller bass doing their thing. I crawled out on a fallen tree and had an aquarium like view of hundreds of fish.

Family goes to (ugh) taidnapam next week so I might visit them and fish for a day sometime after Wednesday. With the dams influence what should I be looking for on a flow chart. High flow days where the cut it off after flow draws fish in?

Sorry for my lack of understanding but rivers are only something I've done a few seasons now and I'm still a beginner
