The only place I know where to get good roe is from fish. Try fishing an area where you can use jigs under a float with shrimp, although this will attract those pesky humpies. Or twitching jigs or dicknite drift fished or peach corky with purple yarn, black corky and purple yarn etc etc. Catch a hen and harvest the eggs.

Yep, or maybe yarnies under of drifted, dipped in the roe nectar. And there's a couple places in OR that advertise in STS and NW Sportsman mag. I've heard some of the guides using them. I've even had good luck with the "Fresh Cured" from OE, can't remember the name. If all else fails, Don't worry and break out the fly rod. They all love 'em.

Check River Bend Jigs, they can ship you a few pounds (frozen), then you can cure it yourself.

Ive caught 28 silvers so far this year, 5 have come on eggs, the rest twitching jigs and blue fox spinners. Black/Purple is best. I get my eggs from this years coho fresh. In my opinion they are the best eggs you can get. When I run out I just use hardware instead. I would never waste my money or time on store bought eggs, you might as well throw your money on the ground and light it on fire.

I haven't bought skein eggs in years - decades even, but when I did...I sought out a fish / seafood market that brought in whole, fresh salmon daily and butchered them on the spot.
I recall they needed a day or two to get to where they could set them aside as they were mostly pre-sold to foreign buyers, that I would take whatever they issued - be it 2 skeins or 2 gallons, and that I paid a premium per lb as the foreign demand had driven prices up.
Still, they were fresh...and ended up being cured by myself.
The best of luck!

Nate's Baits has good roe. I do like jonb's idea though. I'll have to learn how to do it.

1. Go to your local grocery store and look in the fish department. What your looking for is head off, shell on shrimp. Most grocery stores carry them thawed, but if frozen purchase them in one pound bags. Once you’ve found them you have to decide what size you need. To me this isn’t important because we’re cutting them into small chunks anyway. For about $3.99 a pound you have an endless supply of bait, close to home, and you don’t even have to worry about making room for all your bait in your own freezer.
2. You’ll need your favorite bait cure. I like BEAU MACS Pro Glow but they all work.
3. A glass or stainless steel bowl. If you don’t have one of those don’t fret, a gallon sized zip lock bag will work wonders in times of need (just make sure you have a good one or you’ll have a mess if it leaks).
OK here’s all you need to do:
Place your shrimp, shell on, in the container of your choice.
Sprinkle a small amount of your favorite egg cure on them.
Mix well
Let stand for a few hours
Strain all the juice off them
Cut into bait sized chunks
Now you have some killer fresh bait in a matter of no time.

^^^^^ Copied and pasted that above^^^^^
It does work really well...I have used cured shrimp in pieces in the bait loop with success . And you can also put small pieces on your jigs. Chum will like this to!!!

I prefer to tip my jigs(under a float) with fresh sandshrimp tails, or just scent with sand shrimp oil. Ive never gotten success from cured shrimp, im sure some people do, but I find fresh roe has no competition as far as bait goes. Use Hardware to collect the eggs.
