spey rods

new to fly fishing i fish alot of big to med . sized rivers also spend most of my summer in alaska im looking for something in 13-14 ft 7/8 wt anyone with some experience got an opinion i would appreciate it

Look at Thomas and Thomas. Great action rods and not real expensive, well their higher end stuff can be. Get a video on Spey casting if you have never done it, or a lesson. It will help immensely. I Just bought the new Sage "Switch" rod. It only goes as big as 6wt though. Trout and Steelhead will not know what hit them this fall. I would go with a 8wt in 13' model. You won't need the extra foot up there since most fishing is done fairly close.Say within 70' of you. Once you Spey big water you will never traditional it again. Good luck on your search.
