Largemouth Bass eating mice on Youtube

Post by delyakguy » Tue Jul 15, 2008 8:53 am

Has anyone seen the video on Youtube of LM eating mice? This guy has a bass in an aquarium and he feeds it mice. It is awesome, when the bass notices the mouse off screen it gets happy! Looks like a dog wagging its tail. He drops the mouse in the tank and the LM inhales it. The mouse struggles some, gets away once but is caught quickly again. Is it legal to keep bass in an aquarium?? Someone said you can get into trouble. Check out the video and let me know what you think???

Chris , I remember hearing about some lake that sits in downtown N.J. and the city has a high abundance of rats in the area .. So the number one lure in the local bait store near the lake is a top water weedless rat .. The locals there swear by them and they catch the biggest bass in that lil lake all long ..lol .. :-"

Almost seems to me that the Bass "spit" out the rat,..instead of the rat getting away from him,..like he sensed something foreign in his mouth,..then hit it again!

My brother likes to try to keep fish in his aquarium at home. I think he had a bass in there at one point, but I dont think he fed it live food.

Reminds me of when I used to keep Red Oscars {cichlids} in my 55 gal tank,..I used to feed them feeder goldfish and the fish would suck them up and keep sucking them up with tails hanging out their mouths,..they'd get excited as soon as I would go over to the tank waiting for food.

They must come from a private source you can't keep them from public waters.

Ahh, that brings back fond memories of living in an apartment, having parties, and seeing how many goldfish my oscar would eat. Damn thing would gobble them up until they stuck out his mouth lo. :-&

No transportation of live fish from a public water source... Or someone on here would probably have the state record LMB... :-"

Of course I'd be way out of line to suggest anything bad.... but seriously you gotta admit that the rules about "No transportation of fish out of public waters" is aimed at people bucketing fish into so said pond and screwing up the current population etc. It would be pretty sweet to have your own pet bass in your bedroom. woohaahh LOL. (don't try this at home kids)

How about a big lingcod???
And when your neighbors noisy pets piss you off in the middle of the night, get their little barking dog/cat and stick that in the tank to let Mr. 40 inch ling feast on!
Just kidding, but yea, having some sort of native Washington fish in a tank in your house would be cool....

Bluegill are awsome pets they are hardy and will take worms from your hands. But I wouldn't keep a bass as a pet unless I had a pond or HUGE tank that fish in the video has NO room to move#-o

Awhile back I used to keep the small Perch alive in a well and give them to my mom for her pond,..then came the racoons and bye bye Perch,..so who knows,.anyways just thinking out loud,...!
