Mike Jamboretz was there last week talking halibut...sounded like a good venue...good company.

Never been to a 3 Rivers seminar, but all I hear are GREAT things about them. Lots of great speakers, good raffles, etc..

I'd HIGHLY suggest going to this if you are ANY type of bass angler. Beginner, experienced, whatever, they are great seminars...

I would definitely go to that, unfortunately I will be at work.

Wow, it sounds like it will be great. Unfortunately Bill and I won't be able to make it. Please keep us all informed and updated on any other seminars this year.

I will put up some stuff I took in from the seminar when I have time to process it and get some sleep.
I am very glad that I went, not only for the information and getting to meet some WL.com boys, but I won a ton of stuff during the raffle. A whole bag full of StrikeKing baits. Not to mention the SniperLures bags that were being tossed around like candy at a parade. I ended up snatching out of the air my favorite color, so I lucked out.
Thanks again you guys for putting this together 3Rivers Marine & Tackle. Great place and really knowledgeable staff.

nice meeting some of you. i should have left some of you with the raffle tickets. unfortunately the seminar is only held once a year, but there is always something new we pickup every year.

3rivers is probably one of my favorite stores in the pnw, i support them as they always treat us very well.

we werent able to stay the whole day, but we did have a booth there. www.wabass.net meets every 1st wednesday, and jordan - one of the speakers is our new president.

Ditto on the love for the seminar. VERY cool group of people and the pros givign up secrets didnt suck at all! Meant to do intro's to some of the WL'rs but we'll have to do those on the water I guess....Keep up the great work 3 rivers! Best staff and best local selection of G Yam's and other tackle in the area.

DAN JOHNSON of Sniper Lures was a real cool guy. I am glad I finally got to meet and here from the guy that I have heard so much about.
He talked about the history of the company and how it came to be. Very funny stories. Also, how to use the Sniper Snubs and Bolts on the drop-shot. I really liked the fact that he keeps it simple and cheap. His drop-shot rig is set-up just like mine. He doesn’t buy expensive drop-shot weights, he just uses a split shot. I have been doing this for awhile and people think I am ghetto for doing it but it does the job and saves me a ton of money in weights. At least I know I’m not the only one.
Also, he went into detail about the colors and what’s hot. http://sniperlures.com/ He gave us a sneak peek at his swimbait series that will be coming out soon. He also has a saltwater line that will be hitting the selves in the near future. Look out for these. Great looking baits. I can’t wait to try them. At the end, I think just about everyone walked away with a bag of his baits. It was neat to see a man like him doing what he does and loving every minute of it. He still pours every plastic by hand himself out of his garage. Amazing! So you know the personal touch goes into everyone of those lures.


MARC MARCANTONIO a Professional Tournament Angler talked in detail about crankbaits. How to use them, where to use, and at what time of year is best for them. As far as the time of year, within the next month through summer will be ideal for tossing crankbaits. He broke down forage around the NW and how to “match the hatch” with the cranks pattern and depth. One the coolest things I took away from this was his talk about “the odd man theory” You can look it up online, he has written many articles on it. http://www.westernbass.com/dotcom/libra ... ml?id=2341 the basic principle behind this, is that in nature “only the strong survive” and it’s the “survival of the fittest. By knowing this you will understand what a bass is looking for in a forage fish. Reading the article above on this, will explain this far better than I could ever do.
Couple of things I walked away with was the type of rods that are ideal for crankbaitin’ and how to properly set your drag. I have a tendency to set my drag to tight for crankin’ and will loose fish because I naturally set the hook. He explained that by loosening the drag your hook up ratio will increase and you won’t yank the crank right out of the fish’s mouth. Also, the ideal rod is one that is flexible all the way down the backbone. This insures that when fighting the fish the rod is taking the load of the fight and not you. Another cause for loosing crankbait fish.



When I sat down to write this out I began to realize that it would be really hard to give this seminar any justice by trying to explain what was revealed. Almost to much to explain. I’m sure others can elaborate on what they picked up or you can ask specific questions. To explain it all in detail would end up being a small novel.

I will say that the only thing that could have been better would have been if the speakers handed out outlines for what they covered. I really like to have outlines and they make it a lot easier to recall all that was talked about in a specific category or topic.

Other than that It was an amazing seminar and I will not be missing the next. You shouldn’t either.

Nice Summery Fishin , i talked with one of my club members who help host the event and im hearing the same thing from everyone , it was a good turn out and alot of baits were taken from the shelfs .. also alot of guys were pissed that some good spots were giving up as well ..lol .. I started to attend this but i couldnt drive pass by these lakes around me without stoping ... ... Good OverView none the less ...BBD
