Clear Lake Skagit County Weed Control!!!

I thought I would post some info regarding the weed control efforts on Clear lake in Skagit County. Like quite a few others, I am frustrated with the ever present algae blooms that have been happening since 2007 when they started treating the lake.
Not only have they managed to create perpetual algae blooms but the treatments have had a negative impact on the lakes bass population.
There has been a common misconception that the weed treatments on the lake have been purported by WDFW. This is not the case however. The weed control program was created by SKAGIT COUNTY with a grant from Dept of Ecology. Worse than that, Skagit County bought into this idea because lake front home owners complained about the weeds in the lake.
The lake was treated several times a year from 2007 to 2012, and Skagit County had a ten year treatment plan for the lake based on the information I have been able to find.
