Northwest Fishing Reports

I'm in pierce county but willing to drive to neighboring counties and further if its worth my time. I have a buddy with a small boat but our work schedules rarely allow us to fish together so most of the time I'm stuck fishing from shore. Can anyone suggrst some lakes that you can have good success fishing bass from shore? I fish bradley quite a bit because it is closest but all I've caught is small ones outta there.

I've caught them at American from shore, just go exploring. This time of the year is perfect, a lot of the lakes I'm sure can and will produce from shore, just start hucking baits

I liked the word "Hucking" Its not a word as per the Webster Dictionary.I looked it up. I also tried the word "Huck" as a verb and found nothing. Can you please explain the term Hucking. Or to huck,as in I'm Hucking lures or bait? . Ive been seeing your pics RL. Awesome fish.

For some great bass fishing from the shoreline try the lakes along the Columbia and the Columbia River itself. Check out my article on fishing the Columbia River Gorge. I caught one largemouth down there, fishing from the shoreline, that was over 8 pounds. It is a ways to travel but plan on camping for 2 or 3 days. Also some great camping spots along the same area.

Thanks for the replies. Might give Ohop and American a go next week. Is there plenty of public bank access at these lakes? I'm used to beiing limited to a few spots and end up tresspassing or somethin lol

I hear ya, that's how I was, I had to settle on a float tube for awhile. If you can get 2 consecutive days off Bob is right, those lakes down there get no pressure and the river has thousands of spots to stop at, the river is also a place where your next cast could kick out a PB as well

Waughop was nice, saw several big bass but couldn't entice any bites. I'm gonna go ahead and blame it on the post front conditions I was fishing in.. caught a decent one at bradley the other day though and had some nic topwater strikes. Think I'm starting to dial that pplace in.

Glad to hear you tried Waughop. I have to admit that I've never fish it myself, but from everything I've seen or read, it has some crazy large bass in it.

Hello to All,
I just arrived to lacey, WA. I am at Ft. Lewis for the summer and wanted to do some bass fishing. I dont have access to a boat so I would be fishing from the banks. Do you have any recommendations as to which lakes to fish here in the area. I heard some locals talking of Hicks and Long Lake. Any insight for either of them when it comes to bass fishing?

Yea I plan on goin back and trying topwater when it gets hotter. The weather has not been cooperating lately, I hope that changes soon.

The ship canals around Fremont should produce smallmouth from the reports ive seen.
