Another thing that does help is to join a good club. You can learn from the 'old' people [biggrin] and fish that club's club tournys.

The next open tourny in King Co. isn't until Oct in King Co. on Lake Washington.

10/05/2013 10/06/2013 Puyallup Hawg Hunters Bass Open

Pick a another county close to you other than Pierce, and choose again. Then keep looking until an open tourny is listed. Ya gotta travel sometimes.

Probable odds on the teenagers is 20/1. A good bet. I love betting the longshots.

I don't know about that. I'd have to give them 100 to 1. Image

Altho Clark and Austin are GREAT Bass Anglers, as are their friends. rl206 comes to mind also along with a couple more I'm not remembering who. Ain't no shortcomings there among the teens, and other young people.

Hey, it's not the boat, it is the ANGLER. Austin and cl206 and Clark all have small boats between 8 foot and 14 foot. If you want to go professional some day, keep at it and keep your dream alive.

To fish a tourny you HAVE to have the following;

live well to keep the fish alive for 8 plus hours. The livewell should be separated so each angler can be sure their fish don't get mixed in with the other angler's fish. Most opens in this state are buddy tournies so you don't have to worry about mixing up the fish because both anglers are fishing for the same 5 fish limit.

Coast Guard equipment, look up what they require for a boat of the length you have.

I have no idea if any tournies have any boat size limits. Usually it would be whatever is safe on that body of water and weather conditions.

Say the tourney is on Potholes, Banks or Washington. Can an 8 or 10 foot boat fish the lake safely and keep the fish alive? Safe also means the number of batteries needed to keep the livewell operating for 8 hours, then longer while waiting in line to weight the fish. Those batteries would be in addition to the battery/s for the electric motor. Then if the wind starts blowing can that craft be safe, AND get back to the weight-in area/boat launch/base of operations?

I would look for small bass club tournys on lake close to home that you know. a big cooler with a airator can keep bass alive if you change the water out once and a while.
