You can officially add Blue Lake in Grant County back on the list of lakes known to hold bass. There are some fish to 4 lbs that have been caught and as of today I can verify that there are many beds in to be found, along with fish guarding them in the shallows of the south end of the lake. No largemouth seen, just smallies for now.

Interesting. I know a guy who does work for the owner of a lodge or campground or something on that lake and they told me it had no bass. I will not fish the lake but that is good to know.

oh yeah theres bass in there. My folks own a place on blue. Check out my reports from last year on blue. Tons of small mouth. Theres large mouth too. but there harder to find. Park lake also has small mouth. The ranger there caught a 10lb largie years back in park. Has it mounted on his wall. Enjoy it because I have a feeling the bass fishing on park and blue won't last.

As long as the carp and perch don't get out of hand, it will be a while before they kill off the lakes again. I think it was last done in fall/winter of 2006. With the excellent water clarity, right now is the time to do a little sight fishing.

I use to fish Blue lake a ton when I was kid back in the mid to late 80's for rainbows.
I could be off base but didn't Blue get rehabbed a few years ago?

I saw two smallies pulled out of Park Lake last week!.. I never thought there bass in there! Maybe that's why the trout derby was slow?

Yes! I was so bummed when they killed that lake off, it was an awesome bass fishery. Hopefully they let it mature out again!

You probably spent more time typing in the reply than you would have for searching it. Look in the lakes index or google maps bud! People may be more liable to help you if you show some effort before questions. Welcome to the site on the other hand!

In your area, you can try any number of the smaller lakes like Star or Steel. If you have a larger boat and want to try the bigger lakes, Tapps and American are closest. Blue Lake is near Ephrata, about a 200 mile trip, one way.
