RE:Where to get lead?
Tire weights work just fine. I use them to make plunking weights. I make 4,5,and 6 oz weights. There is a metal clip on the tire weight. That wont melt down. I remove those with tongs. Then I pour. Thanks Racfish. Good to hear that guys are using the tire weights w/o any problems. I'll start pulling ...

RE:Where to get lead?
Thanks for the idea Joe. It's funny you don't realize what all lead is used for until you start looking for it. Lots of good ideas I would never have thought of.

RE:Eastern wa spot
The area is called the Quincy Lakes and includes Evergreen Reservoir, Burke, Quincy and Stan Coffin lakes. Evergreen is the largest and has Musky, Walleye, and bass both SM and LM. Burke has only trout, muddy yucky tasting trout so we just C&R if we fish it. Quincy and Stan Coffin are the two northe...

RE:Where to get lead?
Pogue, thanks for the offer, PM sent. Shad Eathing Grin: Thanks for the info. Good to hear from someone who has used the tire weights before. I kinda figured that the tire stores would not just give it away anymore, too much money in it for them. However I had never considered divers belts. GPC: Tha...

Where to get lead?
I just bought a Do-it jig mold and was wondering where everyone gets their lead. I have read that tire weights are made from "hard" lead and not the optimal type to use. Obviously it would be best to get lead for free when possible to keep the cost down so where does one find it? I plan to start hit...

Old style depth sounders/flasher
O.K. so my boat has one of those old round Lowrance depth/fish sounders in the middle of the dash. It's a 1240a and I have never used it. Likewise my friend with a '96 Ranger boat has one too, says he never turns it on. My boat is a '98 Skeeter and I understand they were more or less "standard" back...

RE:bathroom breaks on the boat
Our friend has a Ranger bass boat which has one large livewell door right behind the seats. His wife figured out she could open the livewell and sit on the back of the seats hanging over the livewell and go into there. They just run on the recirc pump to pump it out and bring in clean water. Works w...

RE:Bass boat recommendations
tmusky 1, Although I don't have a lot of experience with bass boats we did just pick up a sweet deal on a '98 Skeeter ZX202 which looks nearly new and has been meticulously kept. I have been out in our friends '96 Ranger on Long lake (spokane river) with light to moderate chop and I noticed the boat...
