RE:Trout Unlimited?
-------------------------------------------------------------------- Please review my statements Marc and please review them well. I do not not make these so called "accusations" in a frivolous and/or careless manner. A very good friend of mine debated the top trustee at Bullit some years back.........

RE:Floods and rains
OK... gotta eat a little humble pie. I've been sort of making fun of the "deforestation" guys but their concerns are not totally invalid. There was a picture in the local newspaper of a large hill in the willapa hills that's owned by Weyerhauser. This hill is on weyerhauser land near one of the Cheh...

RE:On the Puyallup and Carbon now...
Everything in my tackle box is now single hook and barbless...
No matter what I do now it's "single hook" and barbless...
It's like I had this epiphany this summer......... (uh.. ok... I won't bore everyone with my epiphanies)...
just remember... single hook and barbless....

RE:New Launch & docks @ Camano Island S.P.
Very interesting Dave. It actually doesn't surprise me that there might not be buoys on the reef anymore. My last trip was two decades ago and a lot can happen in 20 years. Just checked the regs and you area 8-1 and 8-2 guys can fish for blackmouth and rockfish in February. The Lings are a no-no tho...

RE:New Launch & docks @ Camano Island S.P.
Oh yeah. These WDFW employees are all a bunch of sport fishers themselves. I ultimately got this guy to confess that when they made the reefs they dumped a bunch of concrete tubes in between the marker bouys. But they would also dump some piles away from the bouys. Piles that would be harder to find...

RE:New Launch & docks @ Camano Island S.P.
I think you got the right reef. It's north of the ramp and it's marked by bouys. I'm not familiar with the beach names. Was constructed by WDFW in the early 80's. I was pretty excited about the whole concept at the time and called the guy from WDFW who ran the project for this and other reefs around...

RE:New Launch & docks @ Camano Island S.P.
Good info Dave. I haven't fished from there for about 20 years but it's one of the spots I want to try and get back up to next year. There used to be an artificial reef just north of the ramp and we did pretty good on the red tail perch. They come in there and kind of hover over the reef in the Febr...

I enjoy snowshoeing ( a burgeoning sport in this state.. huge increase in availability of trails and participation over the last decade or so... not sure that it will ever overtake snowmobiling but, if it does, then this bodes well for overall the overall physical health and well being our our citiz...

RE:River Report Problems
I tried again this evening and found another problem. I was and am logged in. The problem yesterday was that the system wasn't loading in rivers to select from. River options are loading tonight. But, for "Lewis County" there is no option for "Cowlitz River".. However, if I go to cowlitz county then...

RE:Floods and rains
Good report Sam. I strongly suspect that what's happening at blue creek is being repeated on all these rivers. For those who've always wanted to catch a steelhead but never knew exactly when to go, I think this weekend would be as good as any. Pick a river with hatchery fish though. Typically the wi...

RE:Floods and rains
I know the "Message" at the top of the page says to enter fishing reports in the reports section but I've tried many times to enter reports on this site only to have them kicked back and not accepted. Had sort of given up for many months but tried again today to enter a report for my day on the cowl...

RE:Floods and rains
Had a little free time this afternoon so I made the 5 minute run from my house to blue creek and it was interesting. There were about 9 or 10 vehicles without trailers and maybe 6 with. Only 3 or 4 boats were visible working the drifts though. For those who haven't been to blue creek for a few years...

RE:Floods and rains
Actually there were a couple of christmas tree farms but no trees for sale. I think what I'm going to do with the satsop is to just start fishing it with my fly rod during the summer months. There's probably some src's that come tromping through in August and September and a day of whipping the dry ...

RE:Floods and rains
It was snowing and I don't like going out in the snow but the football games were boring so I headed out, sans fishing rods, to check out the satsop. Not sure why I've been so obsessed with the satsop the last couple of years but I think it's because it's just such an incredibly beautiful river in t...

RE:Whitefish
I've caught the odd one over the years. I'm forgetting my source but I read a few weeks back that WDFW is considering changing some rules around to encourage harvest of abundant whitefish stocks on the upper cowlitz and the cispus river. But, in my mind, whitefish have always been an eastern washing...

Good points micro and I understand what you are saying, but the trees are there. They certainly arn't old growth and there are areas where you can see that large sections were harvested and then replanted but you can still see a lot of trees.. it's just that some of them are kind of small... I do a ...

RE:Reel question for you all...
Come on Subaru. Beer is much more tasty than champagne.... the bubbly is much to sweet.. highly overrated. It's just unbeleivable how expensive these stupid little baitcasting reels are getting. It boggles my mind. I go through the catalogs and they throw out numbers like $300, $400, $500 like that'...
