How so...? You have plenty of alternative options to lead and they're not banning in all waters.

RE:New Federal law to prevent all fishing inside the boarders of the US?
The rumor was started on some right-wing blog to induce some discussion. It was blown out when ESPN falsely assumed as fact and wrote a big article (which they later officially apologize for), so then every right wing and left wing blogger and home journalists blew it out of proportion and got angle...

Seems poaching and mishandling is more widespread than I've seen. Remember, that which you allow to happen in your presence, is known as your standard. What do I mean by that? Don't let society make you a complacent bystander. When you see something wrong, do something about it. Doing NOTHING, make...

Methow is still open until end of March. A couple huors drive but there are still good reports of guys catching steelhead out there. They are pretty colored up though and you're requierd to keep hatchery fish so bust out the smoker and you're good to go! Also "Fish Lake" is a place I've been really ...

Yeah same with CKim85, I've seen people keep illegal fish or foul hooked fish plenty of times on different rivers. I remember talking to some guy on the Nisqually that said he was keeping foul hooked pinks from the Puyallup. He said he was going to go back down there because the Nisqually was "slow...

Your experiences are very different from mine. I can name almost every puget sound river and an experience I had with a poacher. Just to name a few just from this winter: Sauk - guy running down bragging about his bucket of dead bull trout, fishing with treble hook with worms. Skykomish - I watched ...

Right-wing media eagerly spread absurd claim that Obama plans to "ban sport fishing" http://mediamatters.org/research/201003100014 That site is left-wing propaganda. Both sides are using attention grabbing headlines to polarize people. Do some research (not just ckim85, ALL of you) and you'll see t...

nope no problem here with it, just keep the comecial outta the sound too, oh and get the nets outta the river while theyre at it. I am certainly in the minority here. But nobody likes when restrictions, or complete take-aways effect them. If I like to drive classic cars, and the govt. decides that ...

you should see some of the intruders Ed Ward and Jerry French tie up. You would think they're the size of small trout. 6"+. They are definitely a lot of fun to tie up.

very nice! Sure as hell beats my first attempts lol.
i was tieing clouser's for a couple weeks, didn't attempt the intruders til several months afterr.
peacock hurl is very fragile and doesn't quite pulsate in the water like other materials. Try out ostrich plumes or lady amherst for the intruder.

RE:Switch Rods
Joe, I was hesitant on trying out a switch rod. I have a spey rod and single handers but the switch just seemed unecessary. ALl that turned out to be wrong when Jerry French handed me his Gloomis switch over at the shop to cast for fun. Overhead cast with AIrflo 40+ or Outbound on and you're booming...

So, I think I'm really lost now! I thought the hatchery fish were planted when they are smolts, and make the trip to the ocean and back, so therefore they must have some of the natural instincts wild fish have. Then if 2 hatchery fish spawn in the river, what you are saying is their smolts will sti...

RE:It can happen to the best of us.
bionic one, yes, every hatchery fish came from a wild fish AT SOME POINT. it does not make it the same fish. hatchery fish behave drastically different than native steelhead. It's the difference between a planted rainbow trout in our local waters as opposed to a wild rainbow out of a blue ribbon tro...
