Clam Question: How to get clams to spit out the sand?
I'm going clamming for the first time. I'm going to be going after littlenecks or butter clams (most likely). Once I get the clams, I've heard that they need to be soaked in something to get them to spit out all of the sand that they've ingested. What should I soak them in and for how long? Thanks i...

I can't stand it that I've got to drive soo far away to fish the Snake for salmon! Why is the zone sooo small?

RE:where do people buy bait?
Is herring the all purpose saltwater bait? I'd like to take some rockfish, lingcod or salmon next month from the shore.
What about shrimp? I used shrimp previously for salmon/steelhead on the Columbia over at Ringold hatchery.

RE:Whats the best way to fish off the bank?
So, I saw size 6 and size 4 hooks recommended. Would you say that size 8 is too small? Recently, I started wondering if size 4 was too large for a 12 inch pan fryer. Sometimes, I see other anglers with hooks even smaller than an 8 and I was beginning to wonder to myself if I was using too large a ho...

Thanks, thanks! And, I should have mentioned, I don't have a boat, so I'll be fishing from shore! Probably stay 3 to 4 nights.

RE:Sprague Lake.
On the weekend of the 23rd, I only saw trout being caught.
Heard from another angler this weekend... trout only.
I should mention that every trout out of that lake was over 14-15 inches long.

Wanted: Good Camping/Marine Fishing Destination
Your assistance is needed. I live in the Tri-Cities. This year, I want to go to the coast for some camping and marine fishing. Since I don't have the luxury of time and distance to do the trial by error method, could any of you suggest some good camping/fishing spots? I'll be tent camping, by the wa...

RE:Anybody see the new Star Trek yet?
I agree. I really liked the flick. I agree with you Quadfather, the time travel thing was stretching it (even for a sci-fi movie), but otherwise, I thought it was outstanding! Excellent job on the casting. I thought this was a great pre-quel. In the Star Trek thing of things, I found that it complim...

RE:Where are the best shorline fishing spots in Spokane?
What about Newman lake for bank fishing? Is bank fishing a possibility there? I tried out West Medical Lake today and had a blast, but I want to try out a few other spots this weekend, too. (I'm in Spokane just visiting) Williams lake is on my list. Sprague, maybe, the reports recently posted didn't...

RE:HELP with a brisket
I wish I had checked this thread about a week ago. (And I wish I had actual temperature settings for my smoker.) Last weekend, I had a 4lb slab of brisket. Put on a dry rub. (Didn't have the time to let it sit over night with the rub.) Fired up the Traeger using Hickory pellets. This time, instead o...

RE:Help me cook my Ling Cod & Rock Fish
Rockfish. Mmmm. My immediate thought is keep it simple. For a filet, salt and pepper each side. Get out a skillet, drizzle in some olive oil to coat the bottom of the pan lightly. Get the pan hot. Throw in the fish. Squeeze either lemon or lime juice over the fish filets. Use at least half the lime ...

Excellent feedback, everyone. I'm encouraged to hear good reports for fishing off the banks of the Columbia. I'm going to give it a try.
And... Spadam98, awesome pic!

Bank Fishin' for Walleye... What bait to use?
Do walleye take worms? Or are they gonna want something more distracting? Any advice?

Looks like that river can be productive! Awesome pics! Makes my mouth water. Any idea when the fish should be showing up there? I heard someone today that said the salmon were still down near Bonneville dam.

Any spots for bank fishing on the Klickitat?
I'd like to do some bank fishing near the mouth of the Klickitat River for Salmon/Steelhead. I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on where I might find decent river access.
Also, what kind of bait should I use? Spinner? Shrimp? Or something else completely different?
Thanks in advance!

RE:NEW MEMBERS - INTRODUCE YOURSELF!
Hi. My name is Jennifer. I'm in Southeastern Washington. I love to fish, but I don't get to fish as often as I'd like. I'm a novice fisher. Further, I don't have access to a boat, hence my screen name "Landlocked". So, I'm primarily fishing from the banks of lakes and rivers. So far, I've been able ...
