You probably know but Wiser can have hit or miss days but sometimes a big fish, and Fazon is usually numbers. I have caught a couple decent fish out of there but a hell of a lot more 1 pounders than 3 pounders.
If you go yak fishing up here send me a PM I know a few other good spots.

Re: Lake Fazon & Wiser Lake Access
I’ve launched a 17’ boat with my buddy in both Fazon and Wiser. Fazon launch is super shallow so you need waders to get out far enough. Wiser has a pretty good launch. Last year with low water we had the most issues with Terrell.

Re: Legal flies for fly fishing only locations
Yeah all of those flies are fine. If you tie a fly onto a jig head I don’t see why that would be any issue. If you were using a crappy jig with a grub on it you’d probably get a ticket. You do have to make sure that all your flies are completely barbless in fly only lakes, I have a buddy that was fi...

Re: Birch Bay Salmon Fishing Question
I’ve never tried it personally but for what it’s worth I know a few people that have done well fishing beaches up there before. Dakota Creek also fishes well near the mouth. I bet with some luck you could definitely manage a salmon from shore.

Re: Whatcom Creek - Bellingham Wa
I know its early too. Thanks for the heads up. Hopefully they show and I can get a chance to run up and give it a shot a day or two in Nov. I'm still chasing coho around but with the rains coming most rivers are going to be unfishable. My local river is already blown out like crazy after yesterday....

Re: Mid July River Salmon Opportunities
You could head up to the upper Skagit river soon, I saw on the hatchery escapement reports there are still a few kings returning up there. It’s a bit of a drive up to marblemount though. I would wait until the next escapement report comes out tomorrow, and compare it to the number of fish the marbl...

Re: Mid July River Salmon Opportunities
There’s nothing that significant going on right now in any of our puget sound rivers. July might be the slowest month of the year. Some summer steelhead and leftover spring Chinook may still be around though. Next to come are pinks but most rivers will be closed for them this year, then fall Kings a...

Re: Early season bassin
Anyone giving bass a shot recently or going to soon? I'm thinking of giving some shallower muddy lakes a try in the next week or so later in the day time. I'm hoping some high 40 temps in the day will warm smaller or shallower lakes a little sooner than others. Probably focus on some open water slo...
Re: Snow...
Steelheading is keeping me busy. Iced guides and tromping through 15” of snow is getting exhausting though.

Re: Looking for someone to re-show me the ropes
If you ever come back up to Bellingham send me a PM and I will take you out fishing! I mostly fish rivers but I also bass and trout fish local lakes, either gear or fly fishing. I'd be happy to show you what I know.

It's still really slow. Tried for a couple hours yesterday since the rivers are blown and didn't see a single chum.

Re: Bellingham/skagit county fall trout
You should hit Padden before it closes on the 31st, it was stocked this month with around 1200 trout that are about 1.3 pounds each. Electric only but there is a good launch if you haven't been.

Re: Does the cascade count as part of the skagit?
No, it is the Cascade. It will be open to fishing for Coho on the lower section, BELOW the cascade river bridge. Up river from there is Catch and Release only.

Re: Coho flies
FishAddict have you had any chances to hit any beaches for coho yet? I caught a nice one off an MA9 beach last weeked. Currently tying up some trailer hook clousers for those short strikes I always seem to get.

Re: New APP from WDFW - looking for beta testors
It's not bad but for a lot of my fishing I use escapement and flow reports to help decide where I'm going and I couldn't find a way to access them in app. Consequently I ended up uninstalling :-" I certainly don’t use it for deciding where to fish, just for the regulations. It’s easier than carryin...

Re: New APP from WDFW - looking for beta testors
I have been using this app since the "Beta Testing" last year sometime. I love it. It gives just about everything you could need to know for fishing regs, and you can download them for offline use as well. It also has links to report poaching, check emergency updates, etc.

That is friggin awesome. Hopefully you get a couple EW bassing videos up. You should keep this thread updated as you go from county to county. Good luck!
Also- what’s your definition of a keeper for this trip? A couple pounds? Or are you going for a 4+ in every county?
