Re: Lake Merwin fisherman, get in here...
PacificCorp has a website than runs 4 campsites in the area. Cresap Bay is on the west end of the lake and has the other available public launch other than Speelyai. Our favorite is Beaver Bay on Yale, only a short drive. Speelyai is a better launch with roomy docks and lots of parking. Just need yo...

Re: Towing a boat over passes
Thanks for all the input. I trailered the boat to the dump scale today and came in right at 10,000 pounds total weight. I picked up a set of chains from the tire shop but they too felt the trailer would be fine with existing tread. Good advice about the covering the downriggers! I will take it slow ...

Towing a boat over passes
We are headed to Chelan next week for our annual winter "polar bear" trip. We have 1 day booked with Jeff of Darrell and Dad's Guide Service but we are strongly considering towing our boat over for a few more days of fishing and was interested in any feedback or advice. I now have a 2013 Ram 2500 6....

Thanks for the reply. Staying away for now. Kinda miss that lake though. Normally a clean spot though they do have a copepod problem too.

Summit Lake Blue-green algae
Thurston County has a blue-green algae alert still up for Summit Lake. Does anyone know how that affects the fish that were just planted in addition to the residents? Is the lake no good for the year? Not that many places to target Kokanee near Olympia. Ward is tiny and hit or miss. Not a lot of gre...

Re: kokanee in Pierce, Thurston, King Counties
Kokanee fishing for me started as a new hobby last year. Most my success was at Merwin and Yale. Although a newbee I definitely have put some time and effort into fishing over the last year with lots of new gear, tackle and even a new (to me) boat. Merwin has definitely been tough this year and I've...

Summit Lake gate
Can anyone tell me what time they open the gate for boats to launch at Summit Lake in Thurston County? I'd like to get an early start before the tube draggers head out.
