Re: Clear Lake Kokanee?
Mike, As usual your reply is bias (money, kickbacks). If you read my post correctly I was giving other alternatives to fishing. Whatever makes you happy when fishing is great. I for one am not happy just catching 10-12 in. kokes or trout. That's part of the problem - some are just happy with cookie ...

Re: Clear Lake Kokanee?
Yep. Fishing here in western Wa is declining and probably won't get any better any time soon if it ever does. Soooooo, I thought I would share what has helped me to deal with our current fishing situation. First of all I'm an avid fisherman - or at least was. I still cherish a good day of fishing bu...

Re: Stump Lake Access
Try looking into Vance Creek pond #2 (also known as Lk Inez). No houses around it but you do hear hwy 8 although you get use to it quickly. Not to many boats - electric motors only. My boat is to big but I do make a couple of trips each year to fish from shore. Have caught many trout in the 5 to 10 ...

Re: Hello, where is everyone?
Quad, Mike I totally agree with both of your thoughts. I really do enjoy reading info on sites like this one. But....I think with some of our fisheries decreasing fishermen may be re-thinking posting their experiences especially if it was successful. In a posting a while back I posted a response tha...

Re: Hello, where is everyone?
I believe the posts have decreased for a few reasons; 1) Time of year. Let's face when it's pouring rain and windy doing something else other than fishing seems more attractive - although at times wish I had gone fishing. 2) Salmon season is over and Steelhead has yet to pick up. Although when it do...

Looks like a gravel ramp (lake bed) and a cement plank ramp are there. Type in search bar - Quinault lake WA boat ramps for more info.

Mike, With all do respect your opinion on this matter -IMO- is biased. I'm sure you created this site with good intentions by giving interested parties an avenue to learn about fishing areas and techniques. I gotta give you a huge congratulations! Your site has been a huge success. I'm sure many hav...

Re: Sammamish
Some good thoughts. No there aren't any "secret" spots but giving out info over the internet will surely put more pressure on the "advertised" fishing area. At first Sites like this I thought was a good idea - and to some extent may be. Do I feel guilty for visiting these sites and not sharing? Yes ...

Re: Sammamish
Hopefully our lakes won't get over fished. But.........as long as sites like this exist they probably will. Let's face it much more people can find fishing info faster thus leading to over fishing. Sorry to say but that's why I quit giving info on my favorite spots. You should do the same. Fishing i...

Re: rules proposal: no limit on pan fish
riverhunter, Wow. Didn't mean to upset you or anyone by giving an example of what I've experienced in my fishing adventures. Yes you're correct about native species way back in the 1800's but I live for what is best for today. Do you still drive a horse and buggy to your fishing spots? And yes you d...

Re: rules proposal: no limit on pan fish
riverhunter, Good comments. Comparing SD to WA is an example of how reg's can change fishing in a body of water. So yes this can be a good comparison. Panfish for the most part are natural to our WA lakes. Rainbow trout aren't. These are the facts. Yes some non-native fish have been introduced into ...

Re: rules proposal: no limit on pan fish
I believe that a limit should be in place - not for size (like most lakes) but instead for numbers. Here's why; Each summer I make a trip to SD to visit family and FISH, FISH and then FISH some more. 30 years of fishing SD has given me great memories of numerous smallmouth, largemouth, white bass, p...

Good luck and hope your medical issues pass. We'll save some fish for you - just not the big ones. Hang in there and take one day at a time.

Re: Wader repairs
A good way to test for leaks is to fill your waders up with water ( inside and up to a little past your normal wading height) and look for leaks coming out. If you see water coming out circle the spot with a black marker - then fix after drying. I've found many leaks throughout the years doing this....

Re: Need info on fishing Black Lake in Olympia.
Black lake is a good fishery - would suggest to bring your boat. Just make sure you fish it early this time of year - a lot of skiers and jet skiers if the weather is nice. From the public boat launch; If early am and you want trout head to the left and fish about 100 ft or so from the shore trollin...

Re: Northern Pike fishing in some western Wa lakes
Good responses - it's nice to see others thinking about our WA fishery. Yea I agree that our current WDFW spineless officers will do nothing to change any fishery in any of our western WA lakes. So far stocking small trout in our lakes seems to make them believe they are doing a good job. Keep in mi...

Re: Northern Pike fishing in some western Wa lakes
Wow....here we go again. Why does most subjects eventually turn into "it's all about the Salmon"? Salmon fishing is only for a few months each year - and is quickly decreasing in numbers and length of seasons. Keep in mind that hatcheries control mostly the Salmon run and most of the harvest is in t...

Re: Northern Pike fishing in some western Wa lakes
Hey guys, Thanks for responding with some really good points and opinions. Of course I wouldn't want to harm Salmon runs but they aren't in every lake. I think - if tightly controlled - Pike fishing in some western WA lakes would give us more choices for quality fishing. Bodofish I understand and ap...

Northern Pike fishing in some western Wa lakes
Hey Everyone, First of all I've lived here in western WA for more than 50 years and fished all of them. I'm an avid fisherman and appreciate all types of fishing but think we could improve our choices. Soooo.... here it goes. Just returned from my annual SD, Minn fishing trip. Gotta say that Norther...
