RE:Finally a trophy bass!
No offence taken what so ever. I didn't find out until I got to the taxidermist that there were two options for having a bass mounted. I thought a skin mount was the only option. And like I said, first bass I've kept in like ages. I have a high respect for Washington's bass!

Finally a trophy bass!
Alright guys. I APOLOGIZE. Some may or may not remember me. It's been two or three years since I logged in. Once, I was a regular poster. Things have changed for the good. I bought a house, and am doing all that homeowner stuff! I still fish every chance I get. I finally caught my trophy largemouth ...

RE:Sturgeon help? (hanford reach)
Sweet, I've got all the above (except the line which I need to pick up). The beer is good advice too! I've heard when the sturgeon bite, it's either one of two situations: 1) A full out asault, which is self explanitory, or 2) Light nibbling. Now if it's light nibbling, do I wait for it to take the ...

RE:Sturgeon help? (hanford reach)
First, check out the video I just posted. Even though it's from a boat, it may still be helpful. Especially Lou's advice about a short leader. Next - I'd spool up with even heavier line - 80 pound is what we used. Make sure you have a STOUT rod, no salmon-type rods - heavy duty bottom fishing gear ...

Sturgeon help? (hanford reach)
I am a complete rookie to sturgeon fishing, and discovered that there is an incredible sturgeon fishery less than fifty miles from my house (The hanford reach of the Columbia). I purchased a "fish n' map" of the section and have pin pointed all of the major holes on this stretch of river (King hole,...

RE:The "C" Word...carp
My dad and I used to catch some lunker carp in Billy Clapp Lake out of Ephrata, and the trick was nightcrawlers. They hit like a freight train and fight like a bass amazingly. They are a good time, until you have to handle them to take the hook out, yuck.

This could be a sub-category of the "Off Topic " board. It can be the "Wa Lakes Sleuth Page".Its where we try to find missing fisherpeople and outdoors people that lurk in the shadows. And we'd have a subcategory of the sleuth page for beerman1981 and bodofish. lol, i'm still alive folks. It's been ...

RE:fishing is terrible!
I find that most low level lakes this time of year are terrible for trout, however, the high altitude lakes this time of year thrive. This is my prime time for going into high elevations to catch trout. Obviously it takes a lot longer for things to heat up in the high mountains, so it's now like "sp...

RE:What is the best Fish Attractant you have used?
Beerman, WD40 does seem to work, for the fact that it very easily covers up people scent on lures. But it is AWFUL for the lake water quality, and inhibits growth in the forage of fish. I had a friend who used to use that, but we badgered him into natural attractant. So, while you might catch some ...

RE:What is the best Fish Attractant you have used?
Have any of you guys heard the rumor that WD40 is suppose to be a killer fish attractant? My dad told me this rumor, and if you do a google search for "wd 40 fish attractant" you will pull up tons of discussions on the topic. Has anybody ever tried using WD40?

Is powerbait digestable?
I have caught many trout in the last several years, and many of them, once cut open, have copius amounts of powerbait in their stomachs. This makes me wonder, if a trout steals the power bait/ eggs off of my hook, will it be able to digest it, or, will it in turn kill the trout? Just something to po...

RE:Trout tackle?
My first advise would be to see what lakes have been recently stocked. A lot of small lakes start getting fished out by the middle summer months. Go to this website to see the latest stocking: weekly trout plants The tackle you are using sounds perfect. I much more prefer power eggs in comparison to...

My new ride and I'm back
Hey guys, I've been MIA for a few weeks, and I'm sorry. It's been a very crazy last few weeks. My wife and I were on vacation for a week on the coast, and I've been in Seattle off and on for my best friends wedding this coming weekend. I haven't had much time to log on here. I do have this to report...

Whenever have a "buy catch" of largemouth bass, especially the 3 and 4 pounders, when I split them open to let them sink to the bottom I use the guts to catch trout. LOL, I had to read that over a couple times.... The first read through, I though Uh oh, there are going to be some harsh words and pe...

RE:Trout Recipies??
This one is awesome! Ingredients: 8 trout (gutted with heads and all fins removed). (note: if the trout you have are very large, 2 pounds or so before cleaning, you can get by with only using 2 or 3) 4 cups stale bread (cut or torn into1-inch pieces) 1 small yellow onion (chopped) 2 teaspoons mince...

RE:watch out for rattlers!
when people kill snakes just because it kind of makes me mad. kind of like people just killing and leaving fish. if you eat them thats fine but when people just want the rattles or just leave it there it makes me kind of angry. I see your point, but fish don't pose a deadly threat to humans. Rattle...
